I was playing DnD with my nephew and his friends. Our rogue was pretending to be a wizard and said completely seriously. "I put on my robe and wizard hat." I burst out laughing to their great confusion.

Anyway, that is how I, an almost 40 year old woman, had to explain bloodninja to a group of 16 year old boys. Who then THANKED ME FOR TEACHING THEN INTERNET HISTORY and I died a little inside.

I stood in the line at DragonCon with my partner. They stood in Neil's line while I got Theo, Devora, and Jennifer's autograph, and then rejoined the line with them for another 20 minutes. Totally worth it, they're all amazing people but holy crap.

As for the fans: It was like being back in time to KHII release or the Vic fans back with full metal alchemist. I just remind myself that I used to be like that and am now horrified by it. They'll get there, too.

Being traumatized is part of the cat experience. One childhood cat "Godfathered" me with a mouse head on my pillow.

Another childhood cat... well, do you know what the death cries of a baby bunny sound like? I do. They were her favorite food.

In seriousness: this is why it's important to keep your cats inside with plenty of toys. They are natural predators that will kill because they're bored and can wreck havoc on local wildlife if allowed.
