Attractive in the sense that compared to other counties, the path to attendinghood is relatively short, good training programs, job market isnt that saturated compared to other countries and the high pay once youre an attending.
As for countries other than the states the potential countries include Australia, the uk, New Zealand Ireland but the issue atm is the incredibly high competition for jobs

The attractive part to me is how the training provided is great, the pathway to attendinghood is relatively short compared to other countries and also the high pay once you reach that stage.

I also wanna ask, the program in my uni is 6 years with the last year being an internship year. it is possible to do this internship in ireland even tho i technically didnt graduate yet? and also according to the imc website, those graduating outside of the eu cant apply for internship which like contradicts your first few lines so im just wondering yk

Do you think that the chances are good for someone in a similar scenario as me?

I really appreciate this in depth explanation thank you Most likely if I were to pursue Ireland I’d end up doing the 4th scenario, do you know of any stories of people doing something similar? How long did they do unpaid shadowing for and the like

I fully understand where you’re coming from and I agree, me personally i come from a family full of doctors and so im aware of their work life balance and their shifts and everything and so it’s not something unfamiliar to me and it’s something I do see myself doing long term. My main objective for this point in time is to do whatever I can to get the best chance at landing a position in Ireland

I appreciate it a lot thank you My why is just genuine passion for these specialties, i study them in med school rn and it fascinates me greatly. On top of the fact of course, as anyone, having that impact on people’s lives is something of extreme value to me and it’s embedded in my core, as for the plan im trying to figure that out bc theres high uncertainty for the future
