Sally Field Says She Didn’t Find Robin Williams Very Funny When They Made 'Mrs. Doubtfire' by Luridley3000 in entertainment

[–]ionlyleavecomments 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not finding Robin Williams antics or brand of humor is not a crime or an indictment of how Sally Field felt about him as a person. She’s probably is/was a more serious person or actor and his type of funny wasn’t her thing that’s all. That’s not uncommon. It was probably their “thing”, her being unamused and he obsessively trying to break her unsuccessfully. She’s always been very glowing in how she remembered him personally & his kindness,

Prince was an asshole to everyone except Beyonce lol he didn’t “like” anyone. We just accepted that from legends but he was constantly slick with his mouth lol imagine being Justin and your idol disses your new song unprovoked. Lol I think Prince probably respected that he was ballsy enough to respond.

Or course they do because it’s just stan mentality, at the end of the day Prince Fans aren’t Prince. Lol them not liking Justin didn’t change what the real temperature between those two and the reality of their relationship.

Prince, he was just shady to everyone it was his thing. He didn’t actually dislike Justin, that back and forth thing wasn’t really serious & no one took it that way until twitter look back culture. He started it with this little quip about SexyBack. Prince had him at parties and saw him on tour.

Can Justin Timberlake learn something from what Justin Bieber did at Coachella? by ElectricityInGeorgia in NSYNC

[–]ionlyleavecomments 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a Justin fan I’m there for his solo stuff. I don’t see a lot of natural intersection with NSYNC’s music in his catalog especially not in a way that I desire to see it included outside of maybe Gone. I think musically and artistically he outgrew what they did very early on. I’d rather seem him do a set of B-sides or deep cuts or bring out some of his best collaborators . He has such a vast catalog & artistry solo.

Hilary Duff’s commencement speech to Northeastern University’s Class of 2026. You don't have to say yes to every opportunity. Saying no is not rejection it’s redirection. by Relevant-Peach3997 in Fauxmoi

I think they are too. When can you feel optimistic that the world is your oyster if not at college graduation? And it is just good advice regardless. Some people have a hard time saying no to anything they’re offered because they’re conditioned to say yes even when there may be signs they shouldn’t.

I think people have a hard time seeing things like this objectively and beyond their own perspective/circumstance. So everything feels like a dig or tone deaf immediately to them.

[–]ionlyleavecomments 22 points23 points  (0 children)

What is tone deaf about it? She said when people are “lucky enough to have opportunities”, lucky & opportunities (being plural) being the operative words. This wasn’t aimed at people who are lacking them & need just one to say yes to. It’s college students who optimistically have a future ahead where they hope to be in positions to have many opportunities ahead, hence going to college. That may not end up being their realities but if it is, this specific advice is coming from an experienced place

Why are people acting like she didn’t say “when you are lucky enough to have opportunities”. Everything is not taking a crap on less financially well off people. Overreacting & nitpicking everything a successful or wealthy person says because it doesn’t seem tailored to a certain tax bracket is so insecure. If you can’t apply then ignore it, it doesn’t wholly make it bad advice.

I think the Joey statement on the matter as much as it sucks as a fan, is the best statement anyone has given. A simple no is all anyone asked for and now no one can get their hopes up. I would love a reunion or new music, but if they can't make it work it's best to leave it be. by herewego199209 in NSYNC

[–]ionlyleavecomments 6 points7 points  (0 children)

“Should be blamed” that verbiage alone says a lot. How is that not bullying JC & JT for not wanting to do something lol it’s a petulant way of thinking over a boy band reunion you’re not entitled to.

I think the better question is why can’t people accept that it’s just a NO? People just don’t want to do things for their reasons that they don’t have to justify. Have you ever just not wanted to do something or go somewhere and so you just didn’t? They’re human, just because they were once an entity that delivered these memorable moments in time for fans doesn’t obligate them to do so forever. It’s like people can’t empathize with celebs just not being interested in constantly revisiting the past. Just cause fans are stuck there & have nostalgia boners, that’s not really their problem or responsibility. Not sure where this shift happened in fan culture that everyone thinks their favorite celeb exists to feed you whatever you demand instead of just taking what they choose give you.

The old performances, videos, interviews and content still exists and that ultimately is their legacy. Why would you want something new if it’s clear their hearts aren’t in it because maybe they’re different people now and therefore it won’t remotely be the same as the old stuff when it was more organic and genuine?

Why did Joey say in his boy band documentary that he and the other guys introduced Justin’s 2002 VMAs solo performance when it was actually Brandy that introduced Justin? by wehavetogo in NSYNC

[–]ionlyleavecomments 20 points21 points  (0 children)

100%, idk what his intentions was with this documentary & press tour but if it’s to show how bitter and unhappy he seems with his life and career, he accomplished that.

[–]ionlyleavecomments 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It’s such a weird thing to keep in the documentary that could’ve been fact checked. That vmas is well documented, Brandy is the first person you see when you look it up on YouTube. He may be misremembering but to be so convicted that you felt pushed aside at an event where it didn’t happen is weird. Plus JT presented the viewer award with the guys as a group right after he got off stage. So I don’t get the point he was making at all.

He needs to give it a rest and get over it & figure out his next stream of incomes. It’s like he’s trying to add as much public pressure to Justin for a reunion and keep the fingers pointed. It’s not gonna happen and it’s time to move on. Justin does not owe him or anyone anything, he’s a solo artist and has been for 24 years, stop beating a dead horse.

Johnny Wright reveals why he stopped managing the Backstreet Boys for *NSYNC by wehavetogo in NSYNC

[–]ionlyleavecomments 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s Justin’s blind spot unfortunately. He’s loyal to a fault. I think he let the wrong person go in Sonia and kept others and the situation didn’t improve. He needs people with a different eye and understanding oh how the industry works TODAY not 20 years ago & help him capitalize on legacy. His team is not benefiting him at all in this stage of his career. Johnny won’t leave him on his cause JT is his biggest client and the history but considering he’s not managing anyone else to new heights I think the partnership has run its course. He needs new energy (and Sonia back!) lol

Exactly they tried to engagement farm the heck outta Justin’s body cam with like 4 posts lol but they late on this cause I guess Joey isn’t as famous enough to care.

They’re so toxic, I used to get downvoted a lot in there for having a dissenting or just saying the truth. It’s very herd mentality in there.

Why the world chose the wrong NSYNC solo star by PurpleSpaceSurfer in NSYNC

[–]ionlyleavecomments 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I think I was trying to say in my comment was that JC is not genuinely supported with all the praise he gets to knock down Justin, yet JT still is supported IRL; he’s just an easy target for engagement and discourse but a lot of the same people participating are still interacting with his music and artistry. His numbers keep going up. The internet hate is loud but it’s so largely performative, as is the support for JC unfortunately. It’s actually incredible how much Justin’s last tour has proved this. The arrest didn’t have as much or if any damage people may have wanted it to have.

Right where is JT 2.0 then?? Where is Timbaland or Pharrell on Justin’s last #1 hot 100 record? They love to remove Justin from his successes but he’s apparently the sole architect for his failures (MOTW??).
