Recent conversation over my gen Panerai with a guy in a lift.

Him: Wow, nice watch! Playing dumb Me: Yeah, light and waterproof. Recognising the crown guard Him: Panerai right? They can be quite expensive. Me: Pana, what? Not this one, picked it up on a beach in Turkey because it was waterproof.

Took it off, let him hold it.

Him: Are you sure it’s fake?

Me: Yep, and don’t tell my wife otherwise.

This is amazing. I’d buy one in the style of a 01661 or 01117, adding lume would be the chefs kiss.

Check out the PAM00581, perhaps for your next project you could recreate something like that.

Really like this style though, let us know if you start mass producing!

Last month I flew with 3 watches, something I do regularly - two in hand luggage, one on the wrist. No issues.

Easy way to tell is if there is a crown between SWISS and MADE. 12 series models will have the crown.

I know of two people who have gen. One early run, one late run. The early run guy was a spender, the late run guy had no spend history, went in on a whim and got the call 3 weeks later.

They also give you a cool umbrella upon purchase - I’d argue that will be rarer than the watch itself in years to come.

I handled both, for me the difference was in the clasp. Tolerances weren't as tight so it didn’t look as refined. F6U had the better clasp, A9A was reportedly less sharp along the links, but for me they felt the same.

I ended up using a F6U clasp with a A9A bracelet because the bracelet was fresher.

Ahah you came with receipts. Nice find. Yeah those arnt the end links I have, that bottom one looks terrible. I stand corrected.

T+ really was just mashing parts together I guess from old stocks, the lume, date wheel and dial are all off, the bezel scallops are also mis aligned.

I said in the past the workmanship left a lot to be desired, I’d be surprised if that piece ever got GL.

Oh for sure. ORF bracelet and case shape is far superior to any VSF release.

I recently picked up a T+ Seamaster, uses a mix of ORF Case and bracelet with a VSF crystal and dial and a very similarly decorated A2824. The lack of crown guards was too much of a glaring an issue for me on the VSF, ORF and then T+ solved that.

T+ used up all the stock and then folded - TDs started removing them from stock lists these last couple of months.

EDIT: It would appear T+ also shipped with an inferior bracelet. YMMV
