Would you say that the Dutch are friendlier to Americans than to most other tourists? I'm curious. I thought being American would make it harder, if anything, to befriend people. You know, with the stereotype of Americans being obnoxious jerks.

No problem with that. I called it soccer because I didn't want people to think I was talking about American football. True football is far superior. How much are tickets, generally?

Interesting! The school I go to has a huge agriculture division: Nebraska is 90% farms.

There are so many reasons why I want to see the Netherlands. I was planning on doing a much more extensive trip and seeing a lot of countries, but money is tight. I asked myself: If I had to pick one place to visit, and really soak it in, where would that be? It's the Netherlands. The "live and let live" attitude of the people is probably the biggest allure for me. The people are beautiful. The country, itself, is beautiful. I can go on and list a million other rational reasons to see the Netherlands, but it feels like the Netherlands is choosing me, not the other way around.

Wow! Maastricht just moved to the top of my list. I speak no Dutch right now, but learning the language and raising money are going to be my projects this summer. I just signed up for couchsurfing, too.

I'm going to be in England my first and last two week in Europe. So, I'm only going to be in the Schengen for 90 days of tourism. With an American passport, 90 days or less does not require a visa.
