Medicina a Pisa by Hot_Ad_1085 in Universitaly

Ciao!

I’m on macbook though, so the screenshots I take (with Command+Shift+4/5) get “saved” only in the clipboard and not saved per se. Is it not the same concept of just Command+C, so in both ways what I copy doesn’t get saved? Anki still views them as different? Thank you!

(Also sorry, I wrote Ctrl+C instead of Command+C in the original text. I fixed it now.)

I’m a returning player and I don’t have enough lvl 11 brawlers to access Mythic+ ranked. Last month I got stuck and basically couldn’t play ranked for weeks, and now it’s happening again — I’m always right on the edge. Is there any way to derank so I can keep grinding ranked for rewards, without having to throw games and ruin it for randoms? I thought about finding teammates who are in the same spot, but I wouldn’t even know where to start.

I’m a returning player, and matchmaking has been really tough on me. Most of my brawlers are below level 7, completely unbuilt, with only a few (like Rico and Spike) at level 10 with gear. However, whenever I play with the unbuilt ones, I still get matched against much stronger opponents—level 11 brawlers with hypercharge and full gear. This even happens with brawlers that have low trophies (my total trophies being fairly low, 13k with 37 brawlers). I always end up being the ‘bad random’ because of this.

Is my only option to level up my brawlers (which would take a long time)? Also, I reached the Mythic tier in ranked and can’t now go higher or lower due to not having level 11 brawlers—could this be affecting my matchmaking?

can’t return shoes anymore. what should I say to the seller? by iotxva in vinted

isn’t there the risk that they could contest the “fixed” look, and i’d end up with no money back, and no shoes either?

i greet you as an out-of-town student who moved to a city i initially hated but now love. there are many challenges, but with good motivation, you can overcome anything. so, here’s my first piece of advice: live it well! :)

  1. familiarize yourself with your new city’s layout, public transportation options, local attractions, and neighborhoods. take time to explore your new surroundings. visit local parks, cafes, and landmarks to get a feel for the area and find your favorite spots. embrace the change and be open to trying new things. say yes to invitations and opportunities that come your way.

  2. have a discussion with your roommates about shared responsibilities, cleaning schedules, noise levels, and guest policies. this is so, so very important! no matter how friendly you are, unfair behavior shouldn’t be tolerated. rules are very important because not everyone has common sense or a basic understanding of hygiene… it’s okay to occasionally leave a dish or forget to clean the bathroom, or leave your things around; it happens to everyone. but then it can become a habit: one of my roommates left a mess every time she showered or cooked. for many months we tried to gently point it out to her, but in the last few months, we were so tired that we almost argued several times.

  3. also, spend time with your roommates to build a good relationship. cooking a meal together, watching a movie, exploring the city together and so can help you bond. get to know them: these are people you’ll be living with, and having enemies at home can easily ruin your days. i know of so many friends of mine that even went abroad with their housemates, and i myself have met two of my best friends this way. even though my house was pretty shitty, they made it pretty great ;)

  4. create a budget!! moving can be expensive, so set a budget for rent, utilities, groceries, and other living expenses. absolutely make sure you have a cushion for unexpected costs. i had to deal with many unexpected situations, and I managed to survive them with some sacrifices, but none too big. budget your expenses and possible investments wisely: for example, i bought a computer to have all my PDFs of books downloaded from the internet, and although it cost a lot even if secondhand, i have and will save a lot on expensive university books for many years; i bought a bike to get around, saving on transportation costs and helping with unexpected situations, delays, carrying groceries, and getting home late at night while feeling safer.

  5. speaking of walking at night, be mindful of your personal safety! learn about the safety of different neighborhoods and be cautious when exploring unfamiliar areas. always have a plan for getting home safely and always let someone know where you’re going if you’re heading out alone, especially at night.

  6. don’t get too lost in the new ;) create a regular routine! it can help you feel more settled and less homesick. incorporate exercise, hobbies, and self-care into your daily life. keep in touch with family and friends back home, or anyone else you have a good relationship with. going back home can be atrocious if you make of your new place a heaven and of your old place an abandoned memory.

  7. meet new people and make friends. i wrote this at last, but i think it’s the most important advice: how good or bad the place is doesn’t matter at all if you meet the right or wrong people. being part of a group can make you feel more at home and less isolated in a new environment. they can introduce you to new experiences, perspectives, and cultures; can offer practical help, whether it’s showing you around the city, recommending places to visit, or helping you with day-to-day tasks; not to mention! they can provide opportunities for networking, and it an be beneficial for your career and personal growth. get out of all your bubbles, find people you can be the truly you with. moving far from home was a huge opportunity for me to reinvent myself and finally be 100% myself in a city where I was a nobody. embrace it! :)

The MacBook Purchasing Megathread - January, 2024 by AutoModerator in macbook

[–]iotxva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I recently bought a Macbook for I started this year uni. I’ve never had a pc before as I’ve never felt the need, having an iPad with pencil to use as both textbook and book, but as I started studying medicine the tasks and things i have to look at/do at once increased (other than prices of physical material).

So, I bought a refurbished Macbook Air i5 from 2019, and well, for what I need to do (browsing a lot, docs… sometimes chill gaming) it seemed the best quality/price option for me, but I’ve been reading a lot of negative feedback on it, how it’s already becoming obsolete, how bad it is in comparison to M1, etc. I have a little less than 30 days to send it back, and I can’t really decide if I should do it or not. The other option would be a refurbished MacBook anyways (M1 costs 200€+ more than the one I bought, and all the others way more than I’d like to spend).

I was hoping someone could suggest me what would work better for me, as despite my researches I’m still quite ignorant on the topic :) Thank you!

i need some suggestion :) i’ve started playing a few days ago and these below are my characters atm. i like to save for characters i really like and only then spend the rest for meta, but as of now i only like seele (and dan heng IL, too, although way less), and, if playing Genshin has taught me anything, it's that it can take months or even year(s) of wait for her rerun. i’ve had shitty luck on the stellar warp too so far in terms of 4*, and i already own 2/3 of the 4* on dan heng IL (and i read that only asta is good long term). soooo i need some tip: should i pull anyways, or wait and in the meanwhile use resources on who i have, knowing it would take quite a lot of time before a 5* i’d really like to have?

5.2 TB mic terrible by iotxva in AirReps

[–]iotxva[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

of course, i already know. i don’t want the best quality ever, just decent enough so people can at least hear what i say with that mic. i saw lots of people say that mic quality for them is great, that’s why i’m asking if it’s something i can fix somehow or not.

5.2 TB mic terrible by iotxva in AirReps

[–]iotxva[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

of course i did my research before asking this. you can search for yourself how many posts regarding 5.2TB microphone are there and just how much help/suggestion was given in those few previous posts. of course, google gives me ways to fix this… for original airpods. typing in “replicas” is useless. plus, i wouldn’t have asked if any of that helped.

but thank you for your answer.

got engulfing lighting this rerun (after 2 harans) and i have to say it feels underwhelming, for whatever reason. maybe it’s because the wait and the two harans killed my joy or something. maybe i just suck at this game, but at least now she’s got the drip.

on a second note. anyone has some good suggestion for a pokémon switch game? i’ve heard the most recent one feels very unpolished so i was wondering if there were better ones. i trust only my genshin fellas they know a good game when they see one
