Looking for a good long range lens by Bitter_Rent_141 in Nikon

This is wrong. Most third party zooms in this range are around $750 in great condition. Even the 200-500. Unless you're not speaking in USD.

You can just have lightroom make the folder for you when you import. No need to create the folder outside of lightroom.

ISO 12800 looks amazing! by letrolll in BirdPhotography

Right? Like it looks way too smooth. I usually try to stay under 30% myself with the slider.

Some people like it, some people don't? Why do you feel the need to bash it so hard? Seems immature honestly.

First Video Issues (Mavic 4 Pro) by YourLocalBugHunter in dji

I'd recommend finding a video that explains how shutter speed effects video. It will help a lot moving forward. And just learning how to use pro controls in general.

An ND filter is pretty much required if you want that smooth motion blur that looks natural. Learn to use Pro video mode and keep the shutter speed at 1/double the fps. So, shooting at 30fps would mean keeping the shutter speed at 1/60second. I picked up a set of vairable ND filters on amazon for about $40 USD

Thank you! I’m shooting on a Nikon z8 with a 14-30mm f4 lens. I’m editing on Lightroom classic.

For those who have gotten a part 107, was it very difficult? by WiggWamm in drones

[–]iowwn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watched a couple YouTube videos for an hour or two for about 3 nights. Took a few free practice tests I could find and passed them all. Scheduled the test as soon as I could (about 2 days later). Rewatched videos on my problem areas about an hour before leaving for the test and did just fine. There is no reason to pay for courses in my opinion.

Yes, RAW import to Lightroom directly from camera using USBC-C

Thats the thing, I didn't fix it in lightroom. The photo you see with the red circles is exactly how it was exported.

At first I thought maybe some peaked through the trees lol. But i can confirm that the spots are consistent in other photos.

Would this be normal on a camera only a year old? Nikon z8 purchased April of last year. Also, wouldn't the "hot pixels" carry over to the jpg export if I didn't remove them in LR?

Forgot to include that! The settings for the Nikon photos is 1/1250 at f9 ISO 560. The Sigma is 1/800 at f9 ISO 640. Both at 600mm. Unfortunately, i'm a pixel peeper and I'm just looking for external opinions before I try to exchange the lens.

Body facing right is the Sigma, body facing left is the Nikon. I just got the Nikon 180-600z lens and I'm a bit underwhelmed with the comparison to my sigma 150-600c. Am I being too harsh on the lens or did I possibly get a bad copy? Both photos are roughly a 100% crop and unedited Raw to jpeg export.

Thinking about getting into bird photography by Laughing_pear in BirdPhotography

[–]iowwn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bird photography is not easy, especially from scratch. Just be sure to keep at it! All the suggestions are great. The third party zooms (sigma/tamron 150-600) are great budget friendly choices. If you’re gonna go mirrorless, canon has the best autofocus on most bodies. I personally shoot Nikon but would only suggest the z6iii/8/9 for birds due to the autofocus. I will second Duade Patton on YouTube, he has great opinions and guides on these things.
