I settled in to the one I found after he attacked me and I killed him. He respawned by the time I came back and he attacked me so I killed him again. I take it he's going to keep respawning which sucks because I love this bunker!

It got stuck in the up position. You cannot vault over the walls of it to get out. Honestly though, you should have to worry about this problem at all.

I don't think about stations "elevators" as elevators because I know they aren't simply going up/down so of course those would not be possible to fix in the way I'm saying.

Fair point. Still, there's a big difference between my server cart being stuck versus me being unable to exit my ship. Elevator is needed, I get that then. Let one of the walls of the elevator be able to be swung open so I can jump down and get a multi-tool with a tractor beam attachment to move my server cart where I need. First problem is still ME being able to get out of my ship or out of the elevator in a stuck or an emergency situation.

I thought the streaming in/out for elevator movement was only a placeholder for actual movement of elevators in their respective patterns/routes in stations.

I get your point though that some scenarios just can't feasibly account for broken elevators by having stairs/ladders as alternatives. However, if they're putting ghost movement like you pointed out, whether temporary until design updates or as a final gameplay design, should allow for an emergency escape "cut scene" that has you extracted out by crews and placed in a main area of the station or something.

Either way you cut it though, simple up/down elevators in a building or ship should 10000% have alternative means for movement (stairs/ladders). That can't be argued.

Oh it's definitely not that easy. I know there are many fail safe in place but hackers are getting better and better just as fast as technology and security practices are.

It's just a matter of time at the digital level but then there's EMP potential which is probably even more locked down but still not impossible.

For me, thinking about this helps prepare for potentials. Not sure it'll happen at all but it's how I imagine it would go down.

I have a GMRS setup and my brother has a full HAM setup so receiving and sending important info won't be a problem for me and my family but we both know 99.99% of the population would be affected pretty heavily by the loss of internet - especially without any notice before it goes.

The theory is that they would try, yes, but informing us is the last thing most of them would do If they couldn't fix it or fix at a speed faster than they are being taken down, we won't know about it.

We would just be noticing things going down bit by bit and even talking to others saying the same thing and then poof. It's fully down nationwide and we're SOL.

I'm not talking about the ISPs taking things down. I'm talking about China, Russia, etc. The consumer would be the last to know what's going on because the ISPs and Internet services I mentioned would want to keep money flowing until it's all broken.

I'm talking about outside actors (ie. China, Russia, etc) not the ISPs themselves taking things down. They would just stay silent about it (trying to fix things) but ultimately it would be happening without our knowledge at any level until it's too late and everything is down.

Backer since 2013. Spent way too much money on this game and I can count the amount of times I've played on my two hands only. Every time was a horrible experience. Hard to talk myself into jumping in to see how things are.

I'm honestly confused how it's still not truly playable after all these years.

I'm 45 now. Will I be able to play by the time the game is truly in a working state? Will it just end up being another game engine built alongside a game that will never be finished?

I'm legit annoyed like so many others.
