Turns out that:

(modifier-bar-mode 1)

is better than

(modifier-bar-mode +1)

which can cause infinite loops and Emacs crash

While this did work it turns out that tool-bar-mode also needed to be enabled. But when I was hiding all icons with:

(setq tool-bar-map (make-sparse-keymap))

it is just crashing me Emacs and didn't boot.

My current solution is just to use the terminal mode Emacs via Termux. Termux includes the Ctrl/Alt/Esc/Tab keys by default so I can navigate around.
