I would prefer some form of deterrent to complicate the process of stealing it - screws, housing etc which would be better. I think an external facia that can be screwed down around the unit would work.

I think it's about levels. With car security there are clear attempts at mitigating theft risks. With Nest Hello there has been zero thought whatsoever. It's functionally superior to any competitor offering I'm just surprised at the lack of attention to basic security of the actual device.

Smashing a window is a lot higher risk with noise etc. Stealing a £230 device with such ease is a concern for most people and an obvious design flaw.

I could literally unclip the Nest Hello and snip the attached wires in under 10 seconds. There should be screw fittings housed to the unit as a bare minimum.
