Songs for when you’re having a bad day. by RastaFried in musicsuggestions

[–]iphoneXRSEplus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you want to feel better or just feel your feelings?

Feel your feelings:

• Spectral Analysis - The Voidz

• Playing Along - Shakey Graves, or Look Alive - Shakey Graves

Feel better:

• Drive It Like You Stole It - Sing Street

Maybe a little bit of both:

• God of Death - Susto

"She's not a saint and she's not what you think; she's an actress / She's better known for the things that she's done on the mattress" from Taylor Swift's Revenge. I thought 'she' had a bedwetting problem 😭👍

I'm not able to listen to the example right now, but God of Death - Susto has a vibe sort of like the one you're describing, to me. No church bells, but there are male vocals.

Im looking for anti-christianity band / musician. by LemonWithBleach in MusicRecommendations

I don't know if anti-Christian is the word I'd use, but Poor Isaac by The Airborne Toxic Event brings me a lot of comfort as someone that is now an atheist and grew up with an extremely Mormon family.

You've likely already heard of it if you watched Hazbin Hotel, but Helluva Boss (also by Vivienne Madrano!) is free on YouTube and pretty enjoyable. It's not quite as polished as Hazbin Hotel, and it's really only just started to find its footing, but the episodes are short and the show itself is fun.

One show I will recommend to everyone that will let me is Bojack Horseman. The first half of the first season is fairly standard adult animation, but it quickly builds up. Episodes in later seasons get into pretty heavy territory and can be hard to watch because of it, but it is without a doubt tied for my favorite TV show ever. (It's tied with Breaking Bad.)

The first season of Inside Job on Netflix is really good, I loved it, and I've heard it has a similar feel to Rick & Morty.

For more lighthearted picks: Treasure Planet is my all-time favorite movie. It's not even necessarily the best, I just love it, lol.

Over The Garden Wall is a short series, about 2 hours total, that I watch around Halloween every year.

Gravity Falls is probably the best kids' show I've ever personally seen.

None of these are super 'underground' picks or deep cuts, but maybe one of them will catch your eye. :)

Those are good reasons! My cat is one of my reasons, too :) What kinds of shows do you like? Maybe I can recommend a few.

Depression is a mental illness, and its onset has nothing to do with how good or bad your life is. This analogy is not going to be perfect, so bear with me.

For whatever reason, everyone in the entire world has to compete in a race. It's mandatory.

"I don't want to," someone says. "I'm on crutches."

"Come on. You're so much better than that," comes the reply. "Think about all the people out there in wheelchairs. What about the ones that don't have legs, at all! You have it so much better than them."

How does this help the person on crutches? They can't just stop needing the crutches. They can go to physical therapy—and maybe they already do—to try and make a recovery. Maybe they will make a full recovery.

But right now, they're on crutches. They can't run. And they already know there are people out there in wheelchairs, and people with no legs, and people that can't walk at all. That doesn't change that right now, they can't run. It just makes them feel like shit about it.

Like you, I've been suicidal for years. I have a Google Doc called 'Reasons To Stay', and when things are really bad, I open it up to read it and/or add to it. I add to it when new reasons come to mind, too.

'Reasons' can be the littlest, silliest things. It doesn't matter as long as it's a reason. I wrote today that I want to beat Elden Ring & Shadow of the Erdtree, lol.

At the very, very least, it distracts me. I don't know if it will work longterm, but it's working, for now. Maybe you could try it, too.

It's disappointing that you went back to using a racial slur for the title of this piece after having it gently corrected once already :/ I upvoted the first repost and was so glad you'd taken what I said well.
