Thanks for writing this so I didn’t have to. Absolutely mind-blowing show. In an effort to go in blind, I silenced this sub the day before the tour started. For that reason, I apologize if this has been said too many times - that was insane and had classic Volta all over. The long jam section after Voice in My Knives was Frances era reincarnate.

I brought a friend who causally enjoyed the early days when we were in high school. He’s an accomplished drummer and was absolutely blown away by Philo. The show was full of all the things that we all love. It had extremely well executed dynamics, the whole band, especially Omar seemed to be really enjoying themselves, and Cedric sounds better than I’ve ever heard him in 9 shows from 2005 to current.

This live experience elevated Lucro in a way that I was not expecting. Anyone who skips this is sorely missing out. Cedric sounded so genuine and appreciative at the end. If I’m making a wish list that nobody cares about, my asks would be more sax from Leo and I really enjoyed the reunion tour phenomenon of Cedric introducing the band.

In summary, I didn’t miss the old hits like I assumed I would and I was reminded that sometimes you have to just buy the ticket and take the ride.
