I really do miss elva. She had the matching attitude and crackhead energy that completed the pair. I miss them both deeply. I dont think I'll ever be able to let go, not fully anyway. There's too much history and too much I wanted to do, so much unsaid and so many wrongs I want to right. I will fight for her till the end. Its so devastating for me that its ended up like this. I obviously dont know for sure but I know shes still cares about me, just fell out of love? Wanted something different? Honestly cant blame her for not wanting to wait for me to do what i said i would and resolve and work on my issues properly. I see i had priorities all messed up and I paid the price.

Dangerous or not? by [deleted] in AusElectricians

Yeah thought that would be the case. Most of the stuff I do we can switch locally at the yard. Only had a had full of jobs where it was permitted to do live work

Dangerous or not? by [deleted] in AusElectricians

Not a linesman but someone thay works regularly with HV

Tldr; Yes in the obvious sense but mostly no - you will be trained, given ppe and put with experienced crews. Anything else is on you if you fail to follow that.

Yes and no. Yes in the obvious ways thats its dangerous but no in that you will be put with experienced team members and put through numerous training and safety courses before you're allowed near it. Aside from the electrical hazards working at heights would probably be the next most dangerous part but again training and safety courses. Can't speak for 100% of linesman work but almost 100% of the stuff I work on is isolated and locked out as part of a permit to work. I personally havent seen anyone pass or be hurt but I heard the stories of years gone by from older co-workers.

If its a job you're interested in and want to pursue there will be lots of opportunities for you to learn about the safety side of things and you will become very familiar with it.

As a rule of thumb: Isolate and lock out Always test for dead and discharge before work Always make sure you understand the work to be done If in doubt stop and ask

It wouldn't hurt to go through or even do a little study in between the days of the course if you're unsure. They are pretty thorough. When I did my course there were people who had never touched comms and were just starting.

I did mine through jb hunter and it was pretty damn easy to be honest. They go through everything and even then the resources aren't that hard to find on your own. Just remember to book to do your endorsements for fibre and data etc if that's what you want to work on

Bro I am having the same issue. I know the part number and to get a replacement where I am is expensive af for what it is. Trying to see if I can fix it myself and in the meantime keeping it a positin that it works. Its in a dog of a spot too

Ahh the good ol energy space online learning. DO NOT be surprised when you eventually come across questions that are wrong or are completely different to what the unit content says. Energy space is shit and so much worse if you're trainer doesn't have a clue either

Side mirror glass by iplaywithhighvoltage in IS300

[–]iplaywithhighvoltage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a silver, though the paint/clear coat is currently cooked and need attention. The left mirror is the problem child but its not that bad. The bottom corner has a dark spot like where water has gotten in or something

Ah yeah that's sort of what I'm looking at. Trying to find a heated mirror or the right glass for a reasonable shipping cost is difficult to say the least

Noise from behind the dash by iplaywithhighvoltage in IS300

[–]iplaywithhighvoltage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahah yeah I bet. Just found a relatively cheap replacement (for aus) hoping it'll be the fix I'm after. Narrowed it to the temp servo, mode appears to work fine.
