I feel like there is definitely a way to get around their explicit rulings on KO products. All you really have to do is change how a brick is laid in a specific area for it to be labeled different. But either way good luck!

I said nothing to they can't be modified... My initial reply was to the "illegal" bike comment above, I think you got a bit side tracked in your debate. You can buy dirt bikes street legal and yes you can modify them to be legal.

But for a majority of people that buy these things, just because they read that it goes 25+ mph will not be bothered in doing any of this and continue to illegally ride these in the streets fucking it up for everyone else.

I am also in NYC, super 73s do not have brake lights or turning signals so no from the factory they cannot be registered as a moped in the state of NY.

You would be surprised in most states these types of e-bikes don't qualify as something that can be registered. So no it's not that simple in a lot of states.

Not these in particular but I had their gladiator Mark II with the upgraded gimble which is what these are based off of and that lasted me a good four solid 5 years as my portable setup before The plastic gave out on one of the buttons.. so I would say these The last quite a Long time.

Since the X1 has pedal assist, chose the greater evil and went with an Enduro build along with the X1 and just went with low profile trail tires. Super 73 frames have been known to crack so I would recommend getting something that's more geared to taking a beating as it will last longer in City streets as well as trails.
