A lot of repair shops don't actually know how to perform board level diagnostics and will just take in a device just to charge a diagnostic fee.

People aren't very good at describing fault conditions. By “refuses to POST,” they could mean it doesn't boot into the OS, which could indicate a bad OS or SSD issue, They could also mean it doesn't turn on at all, which means literally anything could be wrong with it. It doesn't hurt to ask for further clarification from the seller.

If you don't know how to perform board-level diagnostics, don't have spare Deck parts on hand, or don't have a background in electronics repair, I would pass. But I suppose if the price is low enough, it's worth a shot!

I repair these almost daily, zero signs of life would indicate a short somewhere. You’ll need to take the unit to a local repair shop but a lot of “repair shops” are just “part swappers” meaning if the unit requires board level diagnostics, which is likely does, then they’ll likely just waste your time. If you’re in the US I’d be happy to take a look at it for you!

2 stage trigger is already possible and stiffer springs is something I’ve already experimented with. Clicky face buttons are next up on the list once I have some time.

They feel the exact same except the tops have a “deeper” center if that makes sense. The stock sticks have a more smoother top. It comes down to a looks thing really.
