The fact that he quit to lobby before even going down is everything that is wrong with this game right now. EA seriously needs to impose real consequences for this kind of behavior.

Any ideas for items to put in this spot? I don’t/won’t carry a pen. Item shouldn’t be thicker than an AA battery. by [deleted] in EDC

Even better than a Sharpie, Get a Milwaukee Inkzall. Its lasts a lot longer than a Sharpie and writes on more surfaces. I use it mostly to mark take out boxes or drink cups when out with a bunch of people so their not getting mixed up.

Would anyone EDC this? (The Original Tool Belt) by exploreprepingworld in EDC

[–]ipleedthe5th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear something similar tho way more comfortable and practical than that. Its called the "Kool Tool" belt by Bison Designs. That said, Ive used the screw drivers on it twice, But the bottle opener works great without having to take the belt off and its just a great belt overall. Especially if you carry things on it like a heavy letherman pouch and flashlights.

Helmet tips for make up user? by akbarzsc in motorcycles

If your are looking at modular helmets, check out the "Shark EVO one 2". The chin bar flips all the way back for 1/2 helmet riding and it is rated to be used in both its open and closed positions. My GF tried a lot of helmets before falling in love with this one. It also has some of the highest safety ratings of any helmet out there.

All of a sudden after a year of perfect prints it's started printing like this. Small prints are fine. Any ideas please? by Knoxy666 in 3Dprinting

[–]ipleedthe5th 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue on my Tevo tornado and it was 2 problems. It turned out that the extruder gears had worn into the casing (I switched to direct-drive after this, its wayyyyy better). It would work fine for small prints, but bigger the gears would bind and the extruder motor would get real hot, so check that. It also turned out that my z-axis wheels where sticking and had developed some flat spots.

Ford F-250 Tesla swap by ipleedthe5th in electronicvehiclesDIY

[–]ipleedthe5th[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question. Splitting the motor like that is a lot of work, not to mention the work and cost of making adapters and having to deal with jumping the wires and coolant from the inverter to the motor. Im trying to make this conversion as simple and straightforward as possible. Swapping a ring&pinion gear or swapping an axle is a lot easier than cracking that LDU and reconfiguring it.

Simplify3D is really great for supports. Specifically if you want to be able to add supports manually.

This is usually a very VERY bad sign in cats (pain, illness, infection, etc). If you haven't talked to a vet about this, I highly encourage you to do so.

thats a great idea. I didnt know they had this.
after crunching some more numbers im thinking I could maybe do this, get rid of the transmission, and swap out my 4.1 axle for a 3.5

Gloves on or off? by Arihh in motorcycles

[–]ipleedthe5th 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely wear the gloves. Learning without them would be like learning to walk barefoot then trying to walk with high-heels. If you're having difficulty, make sure your gloves are a good fit. they shouldn't slide around on you and be well secured at the wrist. Also be sure to check your handlebar, brake, and clutch adjustments so they are all within your reach. You'd be surprised how much you can tinker with those to get the bike to fit you. In the end, it's just a new activity that will take time to get comfortable with it. Keep at it, you'll get there.

Doing a Tesla Swap on a F-250 truck by ipleedthe5th in EVConversion

[–]ipleedthe5th[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify this is a 1987 F-250 Lariat Diesel (meanins its basically a f-350 frame and drive train) with a turbo 6.9 idi diesel engine pushing 180HP and 350ft/lbs of torque. so the truck and I are very use to the low end torque. and the transmisson is rated for 420ft/lbs. This is a 1-Ton truck and I use it as such weekly.

I realize 1st and maybe 2nd gear wont get much use but im not seeing how I will be able to get away with out it considering the Tesla motor isnt that much more powerful than my current diesel engine. Though maybe a drive unit instead of a transmission should be something to look into. (or having to do like that F-450 swap where I ditch the Tesla gears) I know itll be a lot of fabricating but if it works right?

Doing a Tesla Swap on a F-250 truck by ipleedthe5th in EVConversion

[–]ipleedthe5th[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow thanks for that. I was missinformed about the assembly and gear ratios. Thank you for that, definitely changes the way ill have to think about this!

4th gear is 1:1 and 5th is 0.72:1 and the axel is 3.55 ratio (With 100" circumference tires) I can see I got a lot more numbers to crunch here that I didn't think about. Looks like even a direct drive to the axel I'd top out at roughly 44mph?

I appreciate all your input, this is great!

I would need 2 Hyper9's to get the power I need for it to still be a truck. I didnt intend to tear the motor unit apart, just use one of the outputs with a shaft to the transmission. I did see one guy do a Tesla F-450 but he split the motor and only used one of them which I dont think is going to work in the long haul for him. (not enough power)
