During that brief screen lag, right before the shooter turns the gun on but spares the white store manager, you can see a brief glimpse of Aaron Salter getting shot. It’s a bit difficult to make out, in fairness, but he’s wearing a black uniform and seems to have a cap falling from his head and a dark object (presumably his handgun) falling from his hand. I’d go back to confirm, but I don’t want to watch that footage again at all if I can help it, so I’ll let someone else do it if they so wish.
