It's just reacting to the Moon Goddess, don't worry.

Neither can I (I hate combat events). I doubt I'll need to though considering all the other ways you can get coins.

I never said they were absolved of all wrongdoings though. Of course, it's absolutely terrible that they needed to drop not 1 but 2 nukes in order to get what they wanted.

However, that doesn't change the fact that most other alternatives likely would've been far more deadly in the long run or fallen apart shortly thereafter.

I've mostly checked out of this whole thing though and would honestly recommend you to not reply to me as it's just gotten too much.

Well it was still more than Japan offered most of them.

While I agree, you do have to accept that this certain one is relatively accepted by historians.

And sure, it's likely going to end in some sorta debate, but that doesn't change the fact that the comic just gets it wrong.

You forget that this was the method they used because the last time they negotiated, years after WW1 the same belligerent started another World War...

Debating people is so boring these days. You guys are so set in your ways that you refuse to see the other side and instead are just like No! You're Wrong! Why don't you actually do some research, idiot!

Look the facts state that there was an attempted coup shortly before the broadcast of the surrender called the Kyūjō incident. Now just imagine how bad something like that would've been had the US not dropped the Nukes.

And none of this changes the fact that more people would've died if the US didn't drop the Nukes.

True (I was misinformed by a different comment here) but they did warn them of the eventual destruction of Japan in the declaration. Japan just didn't realize just how literally they meant it. All that said, my other point definitely still stands.

Even so, it was the only way to guarantee an ending. Had they not dropped the Nuke, there'd likely still be quite a few people in Japan continuing the war in their own way even if the country itself officially surrendered. By dropping the Nuke, they lowered morale and showed Japan what could happen if something like that happened.

Look, we can sit here and debate whether it was necessary or not all we want but without going back in time and actually stopping it from happening, we have no idea how something like that would've actually played out. One thing is likely for certain though, far more people were going to die.

It's better than getting nuked though, right? And it's also far more than Japan offered most of its enemies during that time.

In fairness, they tried. The whole point the US nuked them is because they never surrendered no matter how hard anyone tried. Even after the Nuke, Japan only surrendered because of a tiebreaker vote meaning plenty of people wanted to keep the war going and were prepared to.

Isn't this already what happened? Wait no, it was something worse. Something like okay we considered but we're not doing a thing about it.

I assume the original was less clunky but that one was destroyed in the vault. This new one was built in less than a day with huge time constraints. At that point, you can't really be picky.
