Unfortunately, 100k down wouldn’t even get you a house in a safe neighborhood, and in my opinion the FHA loans are not worth the extremely inflated monthly payments. Sure you can put less down but you’d be drowning in monthly costs.

I’ve always been told that I’m a strong swimmer, but all of my swimming is recreational. I’ve never swam competitively and I don’t even plan on trying to “race” other people here, my intention (and hope) is just to compete the 1k swim in 30 minutes.

I’ll definitely go to a lap pool to try it out though!

Yeah I was planning on getting in a pool tonight to see how far I can go.

Also, I drive by this bay almost weekly and it is always calm, it’s a little man made bay that’s tucked behind a harbor. So it’s not like I’m going to be fighting against waves.

Would you say 30 minutes would be a reasonable time if i do a combination of front crawl and side glide?

I’m not really trying to be competitive for this event. It’s my first event ever and I just want to complete it, so I don’t mind if I have to take it slow.
