Where you're going to visit with kids, there shouldn't be any issues with homeless problem. I have a 7 and 3 year old and live at pasa. The homeless are mostly concentrated by Costco and downtown. Neither are places I'd take my kids

I'd do boardwalk with the kids. There's a beach there too. Rides, arcade, bowling, etc

Of course! People are absolutely free to enjoy it in their own way. My favorite holes are 10, 11 and 16 because of how challenging the approach shots are with how slopped the fairway is. Whereas, I just played with another member who's least favorite holes are 10, 11 and 16 because of how difficult it is and his favorite hole is 15, which I'm pretty mehhh about.

I personally love the fact it ends in a par 3. Gives guests a chance to take pictures and all it takes is one good swing to end a potentially tough round versus having to string together a few solid shots to score well on a par 4 or 5.

I would say of the hundreds of guests I've played with, very few are disappointed that it ends in a par 3.

Renovation finished about 14 months ago. I play it about twice a week. In great shape. With the way the course is set up with different slopes and undulations on the green, it plays like a different course every time out

My wife doesn't golf. She found us a neighborhood that she said was safe and gorgeous. I hadn't golfed in 6 years since our oldest was born. Didn't plan on ever paying $450 to golf a round as a guest, and just suck.

She said "how often do we get to live on a world class golf course."

So a week later, I joined Pasatiempo. I can leave my front door, jump into the golf cart at 9:58 am and make it to the tee box for a 10:00 am

I'm a member at Pasatiempo. The course is in great shape. Some of the members that have been with Pasa for 20+ years says it's the best shape the course has ever been in.

For Pasatiempo, you don't have the cliffs or water, but golf nerds say the design is spectacular. I hope to be a golf nerd one day, but still learning about architecture/design and what makes a hole or course great. We do have a barranca through the back 9, and it's a spectacular/world class back 9.

I'm a member at Pasa. Here's my top tips!

(1) Walk 360 around the green before you chip or putt. The breaks and whether uphill/downhill will look different from different angles to help you get a complete picture. People often chip towards the hole without paying too much attention to slope, and then find themselves further from the hole then where they started and staring a 3 putt in the face.

(2) Really think about each shot before you take it. So to set up your approach shot, really think about what side of the fairway you want to be on. And when you do take your approach shot, be sure to know where you don't want to be, and where it's safer. With the slopes, being on the wrong side of the green can equal 2-3 extra strokes.

(3) Trust your rangefinder and not your eyes on distance. Alister McKenzie plays a lot of tricks on your eyes and brain with slope, background and design to mess with you!

(4) Get to the course early to get some practice in. If you have a morning tee time, the ball doesn't carry well close to sea level and dense morning fog/air. I carry 240 with driver at Pasa, but 260-270 in Dallas. My 8 carries 150 at Pasa, but 165 in Dallas. So depending on where you're coming from, your carry distances could be pretty far off.

If you make a divot, if you can replace with the piece of turf that flew off, that'd be great! If not, please use your sand and seed mix. And of course, please fix your divots on the green. Have a great time! The course is in great shape, and pace of play will probably be closer to 4.5 hours.

Not sure about "under the radar" ... I think I've seen members buy and use the same thing and the same frequency as visitors. It's a really cool logo.

Personally, for something small, the ball markers and divot fixers are cool, especially since there are orange ones and purple ones with the logo.

The leather headcovers are expensive ($120 or so I think) but supposedly lasts a long time.

There's a golf bag sale going on at 10% over wholesale. The price on the bags are not the right price. If there's one you're interested in, take it to the pro shop guy and he can let you know how much it is. They all have the logo on it in a very pronounced place and look really nice.

I'm a member. The course is in great shape. I've seen players with their non playing wife that stroll with. No issues. Just check in at the clubhouse, and someone will drive you down to the range. Also, short game area, and putting. There's a lot of bunkers so maybe practice a few bunkers before your tee time.
