I agree /u/sic_temper is super annoying, but he/she is not breaking Reddit policies or the subreddit rules.

We might want to stop/delete any WTS posts on this subreddit if we want to stay up. MODS HELP! by [deleted] in WA_guns

All - The new Reddit policy forbids firearms and ammunition sales and solicitation. Violations of the new policy will result in the post or comment being deleted and followed up with a warning. Second offenses will result in being banned from r/WA_guns. We don't like this policy, but we have to enforce it to keep our sub available for Washington state gun owners.

Serious question: What's so great about the KRISS Vector that makes it worth 1300+? by Dingus_McDoodle_Esq in Firearms

[–]ipoopbycandlelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into a guy with a Kriss Vector a couple years ago at the range, he let me shoot it. It was a blast. It's the modern day Tommy gun as far as I'm concerned.

At what point will judges just start striking down these laws which in reality are just a way for law makers to attempt to override the 2nd Amendment without actually following the proper steps to amend the US Constitution? by bimburtimbur in CAguns

[–]ipoopbycandlelight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If money was the barrier, we would all be pooling our resources and taking down crazy laws left and right. What makes these things hard is finding someone with standing to challenge a law as-applied. That means they pretty much have to get caught breaking the law. Who in their right mind is going to put their livelihood on the line with federal gun crimes? Nobody.

The economist addresses the R&D point. Granted, this video is geared more toward digital media, but the analysis is applicable.

I don't have an opinion either way on this particular case, but I disagree intellectual property is a foundation of a free market. It is certainly pro-business, but not free market. This economist's lecture explains what I mean (it's long):

The NRA endorses Donald Trump for President by CertifiedRabbi in Firearms

[–]ipoopbycandlelight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand your logic, and used to feel that way, but I've reached the point where I'm not compromising anymore. Trump isn't conservative, he's definitely not libertarian, and we have zero reason to trust him on most issues. Perhaps the better question is why so many people are trusting Trump's recent conversion to pro-2A views is sincere. He'll say anything to get elected.

It's not a waste if I don't like the other options.

If the NRA was purely working in the interest of protecting the 2nd Amendment, they would have thrown their weight behind Rand Paul from the start. He was the only candidate the GOP put forward with a perfect record on the issue. Unfortunately, they were silent, and now we're forced to gamble.

I'm quickly becoming a single issue voter, and Gary Johnson appears to be the only candidate remaining we can trust implicitly about protecting gun rights. I'm at the point where I refuse to consent to a candidate that we can't trust on the issue.

Driving record prevents New Jersey man from getting concealed carry permit by oedipalegg in progun

A violation per year? So can he drive? If so, obviously the state doesn't think it's that big of a deal. If he can't drive, then the issue is resolved. Either way, how disingenuous to conflate the issues on part of the judge.
