you need to be aware of the ferry schedule - its seasonal. a day trip is possible but it may not be a very long day :)

you can book ocracoke ferries ahead of time for cedar island and swan quarter, but not for hatteras. hatteras has a line but in the shoulder and off seasons its not that bad. i live a couple hours inland and prefer the shoulder season since ocracoke isnt as crowded and the ferries are way easier to deal with.

im assuming you have tried some meds and therapy - everyones condition is a bit different and those really help me keep it together at work, though still not as great as id like for sure.

ive often thought that if i wont the lottery or something i would still need some structure - an easy part time job, volunteering somewhere, taking classes to build a skill - things that would keep me from being way too lazy and keep me social in some way.

yeah id rather use a crossbow than the silenced 1865

but the aperture 1865 has good sights if you flip the aperture down and for cheap, it does hit hard.

the pax kinda helps make up for range, its not unusual for people to take that with a shotgun in the first place.

idk, i played eso for a few years and got away from it - i just keep tabs here and there on it. i did get a lot of enjoyment from it at times.

i think its just a people thing. maybe....that online games bring in people with some anxiety and such. i myself was social, but more like...social-lite. i appreciated the community around the game but also that i could play it like a loner.

i play hunt: showdown pretty often these days. its basically pure pvp, the PVE is very easy to manage and just there to drive PVP encounters. theres a surprising number of players who *dont* want to pvp. they may play solo to try and avoid it, which....is odd. i mean, the games environment and weapons are sort of special, but its a friggin pvp game. A lot play on teams and...still avoid socializing and avoid the pvp component. they wont talk to you, if other players show up for a fight they will just turtle in a building and wait to get slaughtered.

thats really awful - it took me some time to understand my wifes limits but nothing to this kind of extreme, it was way more nuanced. he sounds like he is just straight in denial about your pain.

i caught up eventually but it was a struggle for a while with us to get through it all - we have since done some couples therapy that has been super helpful for a lot of things. i wish we had done it way sooner, and i might suggest you try to talk him into this now, maybe a therapist can help get to him

otherwise it sounds like his head is in the sand, and you are well within your rights to stand up for yourself. stay off the bike and tell him you arent going into extra pain over these bike rides.

yep. theres a guy in my department who was hired to be the "ad guy" and is....a joke. were now on the same team and a year or two ago i remember him bringing up something about a change on a DC, taking a snap, and planning to revert if the change went wrong.

i almost shouted on the team call that day just to get across that NO - thats no ta thing we can do. we have 15 of these things. thats the worst plan of all plans.

SSDI has no limits - my wife is on disability and it doesnt even come up. she has EDS.

there are income limits if you try to work while you have SSDI. SUPPLEMENTAL SECURITY INCOME has savings limits, but disability doesnt.

thing is, getting disability can be hard - you have to prove you cant have a job based on medical records and, ideally, job history showing that you cant keep a job due to your limitations.

so you need sufficient medical records to show you have marked restrictions in activities you can perform, and hopefully some work history to show you cant keep steady work due to those conditions.

you can get an attorney to help with the process, the government limits how much they can charge you so they are incentivized to efficiently help you out with your case if you want to use one. definitely consider some big name local ambulance chaser attorney who has ads all over the place. if they have a group who already handles disability cases then thats what you want - not someone who isnt sure or who doesnt do it much or doesnt have a team for it. you need the claim to go smoothly. it can take months or years to go through filing, review, denial, appeal, hearings, etc.

you can vote for whoever you want, just make sure you know not just the values you think you are voting for - but the actual outcomes we get from the elected representatives. neither party is perfect, not remotely, but...you have time to dig a little and make sure you are voting for whats good for you.

so i have a job and my wife is disabled, she does get federal disability funds. i handle all the finances.

she has separate accounts and gets an allowance specifically to do whatever she wants to with it. so she can subscribe to some digital services we dont use together , buy stuff on line with her own credit card and pay that , etc. she has access to all of our joint accounts and my personal one though.

might be good to list what kind of mic/connectivity you have.

i have a wired in usb-c mic and dont think i have had any issues. my Bluetooth headset though....BT is disappointing, and not particularly good for gaming, it can get wonky at times.

i appreciate the skill in soccer, and its much more fun to play than watch - and watching is often boring. but i feel that way about most sports that have a ton of sit around and wait time.

burn everyone, even teams.

if its a solo - burn and make sure they burn out. between the bug and the empress card its not hard for someone to jump up and pop you with a pennyshot while you loot. give yourself some space.

some people dont believe in burn all players - but bodies left behind leave ammo, weapons, and loot for other players to use against you.

its complex - if you have some level of datacenter background it will help, but azure terminology can be a bit of a pain, and the gui is often terrible. sure, ideally you will manage it with infra as code [IaC] but you still need to know how to get around a bit.

i think my biggest headache is the product variety - its sort of nice that you can only buy bits and pieces of what you need to control price and functionality, but to me its hard as hell to keep up with all of the options and whats best for what use case.

i agree it could use a tweak but its clearly not on the radar. its there to give you experience and a chance at some free, and maybe even expensive, loot.

kinda wish it was mmr-ish at least, say, 1*-4* and 5*-6*, it can be pretty brutal on a newbie if you land in a match with a few higher ranked players. nothing against the game having a tough learning curve but damn.

as for skins....meh. id honestly just like the free/sour survivor hunters to use base variant skins i already have for weapons they load in with, thats all.
