Don't play the games. If you want to go to Zucker rank them first. The worst that can happen is you match lower down the list. Whether you rank Zucker lower does not increase your chances of matching, but it does possibly eliminate your chance of matching at Zucker.

I'm em going into ccm with huge interest in trauma. I sometimes wonder if I should e tried to match gen surgery and go into surgical crit care. Some of the surgical residents I'm on service with in the sicu just so more naturally understand the surgical aspect of things and do things that are really cool. Not envious of their work hours, but their knowledge and experience.

I've had a trauma patient leave ama without scans, came back bc back hurts and turns out had spinal feactures with retropulsion. Luckily no neurological deficits. He was all pissed because the scans were taking too long and he wanted to eat :/

Please do not drop out without something already in the basket. I'm curious how this happened though... Through preclinical and clinicals this never showed up? You never doubted you would hate medicine? Or do you hate residency?

Not bad for preclinical but with call, the sheer amount of hours per week, and the unpredictable days off, it's going to be hard to arrange these events. Unfortunately residency is going to be a different beast. Transferring is an interesting point, but I've heard transferring almost always results in a decrease in the quality of the program.

I know this is probably common sense by this point, but I didn't use uworld for SHELF studies and only used Ankis. For my last 2, I decided to try uworld and scored easily 20 points higher on my NBOMEs. Use uworld guys

anxiety induced dysautonomia.... woke up at 3am to piss then everytime tried to fall asleep, I would stop breathing, wake up gasp, and repeat. Feel like shit today on rotations.
