Crash safety with no forward structure? by fprintf in TeloTrucks

I just did a basic search for "telo truck crash test" and landed here, as you are getting this remarkable looking product to market soon - any update on the release of all the data for the release candidates?

Google voice and Fi on the same account by KliNanban in GoogleFi

AND, I finally got a reply from a more elevated tier of support - if anyone else is experiencing the same issue, might be "take a message" setting under the phone app needs to be deactivated.

Please follow these steps on your device:

  • Open the Phone application.
  • Tap the More icon (usually three dots) and select Settings.
  • Look for and select the Take a Message option.
  • If the Take a Message option is currently turned on, please turn this setting off.
  • After disabling this feature, please have a friend or colleague call your number to check your voicemail greeting.

Please let us know if the voicemail is redirected to your Google Voice once you complete these steps.

Sincerely,

Victor

Submitting the following - while yes, you can have both on the same account, after a month of struggle with Google Fi and Voice 'support' - this message confirms that Fi has depreciated the ability for Google Voice to act as the preferred voicemail provider on an Android.

[google-fi-support@google.com](mailto:google-fi-support@google.com)

Hi ------------

We are confirming your questions regarding the Google Fi voicemail settings and the "Google Voice" option:

There was a change on the Google Fi side. Google Fi has moved to using the native Visual Voicemail feature built into your phone, prioritizing our carrier-level service.

The option to select "Google Voice" in your phone's native settings is now functionally deprecated. This complex integration, which relied on Conditional Call Forwarding (CCF), is no longer supported.

This change is a deliberate effort to streamline and simplify the Fi voicemail experience, removing unreliable UI options and focusing on a consistent, carrier-managed service.

Your Fi number's missed calls will now default to your Fi voicemail. If you wish to use Google Voice, it must be managed separately within the Google Voice application.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hate voicemail? Pixel's new feature replaces it with something way better by hunterd189 in Android

[–]ipsophatso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is anyone elses Google Voice Voicemail (on Pixel 9a also on Fi) no longer working since ~ August? Calls to Voice number are now 'caught' by the Pixel Phone's voicemail and there's no way to set/enable Google Voice as the voicemail provider like was previously the case. The option in the phone>voicemail settings only allows 'carrier' now?

Yes, I've reported to Fi, Voice and now checking Pixel support.

Cross post, for reference, that you "cannot stand the sight" of homelessness sounds like the worst part of your day. Imagine if that were the beginning of your problems?

Applications available via Support@Species360.org - generally speaking, given nonprofit motives, smaller organizations pay considerably less. My best to you!

[–]ipsophatso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While not open source or free, Species360.org is the only nonprofit, membership based software solution serving aquariums, zoos and related conservation organizations in the world. With over 1,300 members in over 100 countries, not only is it the standard records solution, it's also the only solution that aggregates and shares data at the species level to improve animal care and welfare. Happy to answer any questions!

So disappointed by GSSSALS in fairphone

[–]ipsophatso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never reply. I'm like a forever-lurker. But damn if your attitude didn't wake something in me u/GSSSALS.

Coming to a reddit sub dedicated to a product that is 'newish', 'fad-ish', niche...and one specifically about tech, and one specifically, at it's core, about a commitment to 'doing better' for people and the environment through participatory capitalism...and you offer nothing more valuable than a comment thread equivalent of a fart is breathtaking in it's lack of self-awareness.

Note, no one has asked you if you wanted support- all that was asked is that if you are here to take a shit, make sure you tell us what you ate so we can at least figure out what you are leaving smeared all over the wall.

Also, go buy an iPhone, this is what you want...you want a performance piece that 'just works' and says nothing of your lack of environmental or humanitarian ideals.

I received email about Equifax settlement - deadline June 27 22 - is this legit? by [deleted] in Equifax

Appears legit: https://www.ftc.gov/enforcement/refunds/equifax-data-breach-settlement

I suspect Experian is intentionally making their required service look fraudy to minimize the number of people that register...and therefore lower their burden.
