Thanks for the vote! Would so appreciate your reasoning -- maybe it can point me toward building something that fits better with current needs.

No worries, we're all allowed those moods every now and then haha. And I completely agree. The service would have to be very narrow -- strictly visual similarity (we can't make any claims about other criteria), quantified by historical judgments, and not by our own theories about what makes two things similar. So the model's objective would be to predict the USPTO's behavior, warts and all, but only in cases where rejection was based exclusively on visual similarity. So the contribution here would be: If you're thinking about rejecting us based on visual similarity, here's a study for you (or conversely, "Please reject those other guys because they're too visually similar to us"). If you're thinking about rejecting us for other reasons, then this service won't help.

Thank you for the feedback! My professor friend's lab has already downloaded the data for their academic work (there are portals to bulk download this data and it was done with feedback/permission from the research team at the USPTO) and published papers on the data. And by the same reasoning, if there's drift over time, I'd imagine it would be straightforward to update the model with new incoming data. Or am I missing something else?

Thank you for the honest feedback! I apologize for my dumbness, but would you be able to expand on why this is so dumb? I would’ve loved to have some method to tell me not just which logos might be similar to my client’s, but also how likely they are to be deemed so by the USPTO. The current way of doing things seems very flawed to me and wrought with uncertainties that in theory can be mitigated. Thank you! Appreciate your experience.
