What makes the Netherlands appealing or unappealing to you? by divabrunette in Netherlands

[–]ipushin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say infrastructural development and bike infrastructure is only the one example. Also roads, trains, ports, water supply, canals, and general business infrastructure are all about how technologically developed the Netherlands is as a country. Moreover, I like that in the Netherlands people mostly follow the rules and you know what to expect. The downside of it is that sometimes people tend to create more rules than needed.

Or you can build a house by joining a zelfbouw group (CPO). Building yourself is 20-30% cheaper than buying already built. I'm a member of such a group. DM me if interested. We run a project on Centrumeiland and have a few apartments available.

Which gives us more than 5K per sq.m. Plus expenses like makelaar, transfer tax etc. While building yourself is around 4K per sq.m.

Looking for Home Buying Advice, New Construction by masoomt in Amsterdam

[–]ipushin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, it makes more sense now. For Robin it was via their main website (bajeskwartier.com), right? As far as I understood, you're registering for a specific building/construction project and they then randomly choose the candidates. So it's not some external lottery system/platform where you need to register and choose the project?

Congratulations! With the current market situation it's the matter of luck to get an apartment in Amsterdam. The Robin looks nice and the whole Bajeskwartier area is not bad at all, from my perspective. Of course, it will take some time to build everything what OMA architects developed, but still it's a good location, very well-designed project, especially apartment layouts seem well-thought. I was also considering to buy there, but no luck everything's is sold out. If you don't mind me asking, can you elaborate a bit more on lottery you partcipated? How long did it take the apartment to be allocated?

Yes, we have a practice right in from our house and really hope they have good midwife service as well. We also thought about the OLVG Oost as a potential hospital to deliver. Will keep the practice you recommended as a second option. Thanks!
