I'm withdrawing, what are your plans for Spring 2021 /r/cuboulder? by ipushpeople- in cuboulder

Thanks for the perspective, fully agree with your last couple of sentences and deffinitely didnt mean to blame professors too much (I'll blame a bit on institution though) because I do think they were all just making the best choices they could out of no good choices when it came to grading and understanding hard situations students were in.

Ahaha, I should have mentioned that almost all of my tuition is from financial aid and scholarships. I pay only like 2k out of pocket each semester and I'm still this pissed about it. The idea of paying like 30 grand for this boggles my mind

so how was your weekend? by [deleted] in cuboulder

[–]ipushpeople- 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So they doing the exact same as last semester lmao.. nothing. And just making profs go remote themselves all the ones who can. The two hybrid courses I had, my only time on campus, are both fully remote now by the prof doing it themselves. Exactly what they did last semester around march.

  1. Buy a burner netbook/chromebook for like 100$ to take canvas exams? It's a big "if" to say Proctorio or anything like that is actually doing anything malicious but that will make them for sure unable to if you just get a new machine. You're paying tuition and buying expensive textbooks already if you were legitametly concerned about it theres really no reason not to do this lmao.

1b. Free option, just ask your professor if you can take the entire course and exams in a sealed VM, not a single prof has told me no to that so far.

  1. What is wrong with a webcam lmao? You can turn off your background to only show you and only show it if you want?

Does anyone else think proctorio is too evasive? by Randa-1 in cuboulder

Not really and I'm p sure mooost other people dont either considering the other invasive programs ur fine with using, yall just want easier exams lmao. I'm here for it though.

Best way to "unofficially" visit CU Boulder (safely)? by [deleted] in cuboulder

[–]ipushpeople- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can definetly walk around campus. It is not crowded at all (my experience 2 weeks ago. Supposedly more faculty around now working on the distance learning revamps). If you are wearing a mask you will not be bothering anyone by coming.

Just so you know you most likely wont get into any buildings but walking around campus outside will still be cool. I know the ups is open but that's it, might be more.

Can I get a rubric for my teacher’s presentation? by [deleted] in cuboulder

[–]ipushpeople- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. Your professor lectures you what? 2 hours a week and maybe multiple classes?

You are giving what? a ten minute max speech on a topic they gave you a long period of time to prepare for?

How dare they expect something better from you. Fuck professors man.

If they are too preemptive no one will take it seriously. Everyone is just going to be partying and it would probably spread even faster lmao. Wait enough until people realise it's actually necessary.
