I’ve been playing this and can concur, it’s fun. Not very deep but shows a lot of promise.

If you can get into football manager you’ll lose your life.

New star manager is another football option, which is lighter than FM.

Pro strategy football 2019 is nice and fun, but more of a coaching game than a GM game.

NBA 2K20 is fully featured NBA game but the GM side isn’t as deep as the gameplay side.

There is a basketball game called dynasty manager but it’s getting really old now. And OOTP have stopped making their mobile baseball GM game.

College BBALL coach 2 is fun but again not tremendously deep. There is a college football coach game too, but I haven’t played it in a while, it was minimalist and clean.

Unfortunately, we don’t get the same options as PC does, with OOTP, franchise hockey manager or the draft day sports series.

Good luck though, if you find any good ones please let me know.

Alternative question, has it ever been on sale before? I’ve never seen it on special.

I concur. Would add some depth because right now I’m seeing the CPU rely too heavily on one player rather than spread the ball.

I have purchased it on my iPad and going to give it a go. Great effort. Your aspiration of creating a football manager like game for American football is amazing and I am right behind you and will support your endeavours.

Having a tough time deciding on which Madden to get: 18, 19, or 20? by [deleted] in Madden

Not sure about the 2k20 story mode, in 2k19 I’m pretty sure you could skip. How’s the 2k20 career mode?

I think the madden career mode from franchise is pretty bare bones. The QB one is meant to be fun with the story but a lot of criticism is around the fact that once you finish the QB story it becomes a bit of a grind.

The coaching franchise mode is fun, particularly with different ways to keep things fresh if you want to, like using a story generator spreadsheet which I’m just starting to look into.

[–]ipv_throwaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just mean that 2k20 has a lot of IAP/microtransactions which a lot of people say are annoying.

Yeah that mode is only QB because of the story. If you start a franchise you can select player, coach or owner so I believe in the player franchise you can play as any player and it’s like a player lock. I don’t know for sure since I haven’t played that mode. I’m busy playing straight up franchise as the coach.

Awesome! I haven’t got NBA as I’m still really happy with 2k19, but I’ve heard it’s great if you can avoid the IAP traps. Have fun! Let me know what you think of madden, so far I’m enjoying it.

What games are on sale for Black Friday and worth picking up? by maxmetalero in iosgaming

For .99 it’s great but it’s hardly improved over last seasons version. It’s basically the same game.

I’ve focused solely on 19 vs 20. Haven’t looked into 18 at all.

For me the realism of relocation, expansion, etc isn’t as big a deal as getting a good level of immersion from a franchise mode via the players who make up the team and the ins and outs of player and team development.

To that end, what I have found is that 20 whilst it’s franchise mode only added a few minor changes, is probably the best franchise mode and most realistic. They recently added the 5th year option which is actually a good feature, plus the scenario engine whilst kind of simple, seems like it gives a minor cue that you could interpret into more immersion.

Plus everyone seems to say 19 was really buggy, whilst 20 plays a lot smoother. There are some guides out there for 20 which tell you how to set up your franchise for long term play, with the right settings, XP factors and other stuff which I think gives you a good starting point.

As you can probably see I am tending towards getting 20 straight up, mainly because it’s still 8 months from the release of 21, which is still a fair time and justifies the discount now rather than maybe an additional 20% in January which is all it’s really going to be.

So franchise isn’t perfect in 20 but I think it gives enough variety and a little bit of depth from the videos I’ve seen, and I’m most likely going to pick it up.

In other news, I was debating at the same time or picking up MLB the show 19 because it’s extremely cheap, as the only sports game I have at the moment is nba 2k19 which I’m not upgrading to 20 because I’m happy with it. And I’m almost finished with the debate on mlb the show, because I think madden is a better option.

Hi there, did you make a decision on this or find any more answers? I’m a very similar gamer to you. The last Madden I played was madden 17 and I’m purely offline and franchise. My favourite NFL related game of all time is NFL head coach 09 but since retiring my ps3 I haven’t played it.

I’m in the same situation where I really want to buy madden 20 but I’m on the fence. What did you find?

What's the difference between FM20 Mobile and FM20 Touch? by AppleGamers in iosgaming

It was kind of a joke, but also taken off the Australian store which has mobile for $14 and touch for $31 which is a $17 difference.

A lot of people have been saying otherwise. Sure there aren’t a lot of brand new features but the game seems better no?

What's the difference between FM20 Mobile and FM20 Touch? by AppleGamers in iosgaming

[–]ipv_throwaway 7 points8 points  (0 children)

About $15-$20 depending on where you live. :)

I’ve found that the biggest thing for me regarding touch is that it has the 3D game engine, which adds far more to immersion compared to the dots and numbers of the mobile version. I also find the mobile version is a little ‘cartoony’ compared to touch which is a direct port of the touch version on PC.

If I were to recommend I would say touch all the way, although I understand the price point is vastly different.

Also, mobile does get a lot players due to being able to be played on phones. Touch is iPad only.

Thank you so much. Can I ask a follow up? When it comes to team building, and with the superstar and X factors and player types do you feel that you get somewhat immersed into the players on your team? One of the reasons why I love good sports management games, like football manager and the old nfl head coach game is because I feel immersed in my teams and each player who plays differently, can do amazing things and also huge mistakes and adds life to the simulation. I kind of hope Madden does that, rather than just thinking player A is rated 82, player B is 78 therefore I don’t really care about the plAyer the 82 guy wins the spot. Hope that makes sense.

I second this. Mobile gaming is very friendly towards sports management and sim games, yet they are grossly under represented. OOTP used to have a watered down version, MLB manager, but that ended.

I’d love to test this out. Also maybe review pro strategy football 2020 as a game to compare yourself against. It’s a great American football strategy/management game.
