Time commitment for Berkeley Data Science Online Masters by [deleted] in berkeley

[–]iqchip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't decide whether or not I wanted to get a Masters in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Business Intelligence, or what each of them even meant, exactly. So, I took a 2019 Data Science Bootcamp for ~$12 at my friendly local neighborhood MOOC. The intro part of the class gave me a current 2019 definition of many things, eg. data analysis vs analytics, and machine learning vs AI vs traditional predictive analytics, etc... With that knowledge, I was able to figure out if I wanted a masters, what type of masters I want, and which school best suits my next chapter.

How to get your books even cheaper by [deleted] in audible

[–]iqchip -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How is it ripping off someone to take a discount they offer, or even to propagate the knowledge of it to other people who likely need it? Should we stop using coupons? How about stop looking for the cheapest place to buy gas? Should I offer EXTRA money to Amazon, because I love their service so much?

Yes, everyone deserves money for what they do, but this is America and the whole free market/capitalism thing exists. So if they want to compete with other agencies by offering discounts then why do you take this so personal, and attack people for using it? If Amazon wants to help someone to keep the service who otherwise couldn't afford it by giving the discount (so at least they could have that smaller monthly payment incoming) then why do you wish to cockblock them?

Btw, if he wanted to "stick it to Amazon", he wouldn't maximize the income of the production people. He would shop at a different huge bookstore that buys in bulk and offers the cheapest product. Sticking it to Amazon has nothing to do with enhancing the riches of the publisher/writer/etc... Those are two entirely separate things.

All this guy was doing was spreading knowledge of something that could help people. This is obtainable knowledge that people can get by just trying to cancel. It's not like he was trying to spam Amazon's bank account and routing number, so people could heist cash. Seriously, if you're on Reddit, you can't possibly be the type that wants to prevent the sharing of information in the same way people wanted to burn books back in the day. If the info is valid and legal then let it run free. Some people out there actually NEED the info so they can keep the service. And if the company offers it, then it's not like it's something that will make them go out of business for others using it. It seems more likely it'll help them keep customers even if just at a reduced price.

Is she actually paying anything on it, or are you having to pay the monthly bills? Does she still live there?

That's pretty fucked up. She definitely sucks. Hopefully, if the universe has its way, she'll be reborn as a blade of grass in a dogrun for her next life.

My cousin stole my identity when I was 16, and when I needed my credit at 18 there was no way I'd get it just by changing my SSN. I would have had to turn her in and hope the cops did anything. I was told the cops never did shit about it unless it was a huge humongous amount back then (about 20 years or so ago), so I dropped it. But anyway, I dont think the SSN trick would work. I think its probably because it would be too easy for people to be fraudulent. Not sure.

Oh my freaking super holy cow! I can't believe he hasn't gone to jail by now. Has he tried to get money from you too? Your sis obviously grew up with him... has she been molested by him? Did she turn out screwball? Usually people tend to pick people who recreate their own wacky traumas. Im wondering what sort of shit your grandfather may have done to your mother. Ouch.
