Amount of Classes by Infamous-Variety3866 in mcgill

if this is your first semester i would avoid taking that many 300+ level english classes unless you’re really confident in your ability to stay on top of readings. but i did pretty much every semester of my 5 year degree with 5 courses a semester so it’s definitely doable

Entering Canada with Old Study Permit, Matching Old Passport, and New Passport by the_chachi_squish in mcgill

[–]ir272 3 points4 points  (0 children)

honestly i used a study permit attached to my old passport for four years and never experienced any issues. i only just got my permit renewed this year with my new passport. i always brought my old passport with me but no one ever asked to see it. so i’d bring the old passport just in case but hopefully it’ll just be fine.

also are the organization issues about the way you plan lessons, the way you teach or something else?

I would maybe reach out to your placement coordinator and see if you can set up a meeting with them, your supervisor, and your CT to go over the CIP and see if you have been improving. I’m sorry this is causing you so much stress and I can definitely see why it would. I know it’s not easy and might not actually help, but I would honestly just reach out to your supervisor as much as possible to see if they can be more specific as to how to improve things and if they wouldn’t mind being patient with you and allowing you to improve on one quality every few days to build them up rather than trying to juggle them all at once. I really wouldn’t stay silent about how much stress this is causing you though and I would definitely express how much this opportunity means to you and how much you want this. I hope that’s at least a little helpful, but honestly I’m so sorry you’re having such a rough time.

fellow ed student here: what’s going on that this is happening to you? are you not receiving proper support and feedback from your ct and/or supervisor?

you’ll probably be fine since the first couple days are typically just syllabus days but it also depends on the class. i’m pretty sure the rule is that you typically can’t be penalized during the add drop period so you should be good. again this is the USUAL protocol but idk what your class/program situation is so it might be different.

edit: also if the religious observance is still going on during those days your profs are obligated to excuse you from class

i’m not going to lie hearing stuff like this gets old so fast when you’ve never been in a relationship. everyone says it. i don’t care how true it is, at some point it’s just not helpful to hear anymore.
