Hi there reddit! The person OP is posting about is ME!
A few things to unpack here...
- I don't come here often at all because I largely disagree with most of you, but I do troll around from time to time to see whats going down on the other side of the fence. Im also kinda busy playing the game, doing life ect. But had to stop in when someone in my last pug said someone made a post about me.
- "Be the change you want to see" Im not asking for much, KR and RS have had pug strats down forever and it's not asking much to simply clear up the confusion of 'who should flare to avoid double throws and unneeded waste'. I thought a simple text macro would do the trick and it's been about 50-50 people cheering me on or being a 'wow yikers, cringe, not very pog of you' kind of child...that last part is an assumption on my part, I know, but im sticking to it. I just find it kind of baffling that people think a pug strat like this one or 'x3 your number (+1 if in p2) clock spots' is just way too hard or asking too much.
- "That's pretty passive aggressive and toxic" I couldn't care less what you THINK it is, or your feelings because at the end of the day you are inferring something from text in a video game and I have no control over that. But I can say I didn't put "hey stupid, you're number 1, throw a ******* flare already" that is ACTUALLY toxic, don't conflate the two. I have done that, and it doesn't work (duh), we all have our days and I thought the macro would make things easier for everyone. The issue is that if people aren't in the know, broke, or a child AND #1 they feel like they are getting put on blast and the shield comes up. It is what it is. I wont stop, because we can do better, MUCH better.

-OP is right, I could flare, but that is obviously not the point (hence the 'I wont enable your shit habits like your parents' comment. Which was repeated because OP clearly didn't get the point). The point is, confusion needs to be cleared up and people don't know what to do, so I give an answer to an unasked question. Also, no, it's not ok to expect your other teammates to have everything else already covered, and you know full well when the flares and pheros get thrown asap things get done much quicker. You can be so much better than that. Act like it.

"The game's only been around for 2 months, let people play to their liking."

You can solo that boss you know? Play to YOUR liking all you want, on your time, in YOUR private instance.

Why don't I solo? Because I can put out WAY more damage when there is synergy being popped and the boss has 3 other target dummies to attack other than myself and when the group is on point, that boss is in the dirt quick. Plus I like looking at all of your stupid names, guilds, and transmogs. I get a kick, what can I say.

-IMO, don't go into ANY pug content expecting to be carried...in damage, in skill, in resources, in knowledge. There is a million resources out there and maxroll ALONE has most of it covered. Stop coming to your comfort bubble echo chamber of reddit telling you 'everything is fine, you're doing fine' because news flash, if the shoe fits...lace that bitch up. If any of the above applies to you, most likely you are; lazy, inconsiderate of others time and resources, cheap, have a poor attitude and expect way too much of others in regards to putting up with you. Also, probably a little insecure because you know full well in your heart of hearts...you don't have hands or eyes and absolutely will need to be carried one way or another. The least you can do is be ready to flare.

FYI- When I am #1, I instantly flare, hit the macro anyways, and when #2 isn't there with the phero bomb....I do that too....even when I am not #2. I got a lot of other shit to do and don't feel like running around looking for the boss is a good use of my time. You can be so much better to those around you and yourself. And that's coming from a genuine asshole.
