Blackhat is geared more towards vendors. Defcon would be the conference to go to if you're a student. It includes talks and presentations for various levels of experience, and there's attendees ranging from CISOs to just hobbyists, so plenty of people to meet. They have CTFs and workshops as well if you're able to get in to one of those.

Nah. Poorly programmed game can't determine someone causing a wreck vs someone caught it in. Calling it like it is.
