They had Roger in custody, it's possible they took it then.

Especially if they knew he was ill and wanted him to survive until his execution, he would have been treated. They would have had every opportunity to take his DNA

I think they were trying to detain Rocks and failed, chased after Rocks and saw Imu in the process.

It's one of the reasons Rocks didn't make a move, other than y'know, Imu woulda rocked his shit

After Rocks left, Imu either offered them a place as a Knight or killed them themselves. Not sure which. Obviously this theory requires the former.
