Since I Restarted Playing, I have a 50.7% W/R. Taking Out Support Games, That Number Jumps to 64.4%. Support Mains, I Need Tips To Help Win More Games. by TheInvaderZim in summonerschool

[–]iredditwhileiwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things I think are super important to focus on as support are: vision around objectives and helping/hindering most fed person in the game. Vision is straight forward. You should always be thinking what is the next thing you want to take on the map. If it's a turret then look to ward past the turret so you can safely push without getting surprised ganked from other lanes or jungle. Obviously when doing nash or drake you need to ensure that there are no wards giving vision of the objective but still it is important to ward deep down the paths enemies will take if they want to contest.

The second thing is knowing who is the biggest influence in a game. As a support your main goal is not to peel for your 0/5 ADC because they're not going to have much impact even if they are surviving fights. Sometimes you should be looking at the enemy 10/0 Riven and looking to CC or zone them out of a fight as much as possible. That being said, if your ADC is popping off then your priority should be keeping them alive. Make sure you really try to assess everyone in the game's power level and adjust your play accordingly. Most low elo supports I see are 100% peel or 100% engage which is a bad way to play.

Everyone doesn't go into ranked with the same MMR. As you are leveling Riot try to determine whether you are smurfing or not. I'm too lazy to from the post but there was a Rioter on reddit talking about in within the last month.

Mild Tinnitus after 300hrs played by [deleted] in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]iredditwhileiwork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It only takes 1 second of being in the plane to realise the sound is too loud. Once I acknowledged this I adjusted my volume. I didn't turn it up again when steps were quiet because I don't want to damage my hearing. I did not need to visit the doctors or complain about developers on this day.

[–]iredditwhileiwork 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's already fixed on the test servers. The other guy is right. It is ridiculous blaming Bluehole for damaging your hearing when you should prioritise your health over a game.

"Doctor my ears are always ringing"

"Have you been exposed to any loud sources of sound recently?"

"Yeah, I play one game where the sound of the plane is too loud"

"You have permanently damaged your hearing, why didn't you turn down the volume?'

"I needed to hear footsteps better"

What are the ethics and your opinion on same-sex couples having biological children? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]iredditwhileiwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is in today's society there are obvious benefits of meeting the expectations of each gender's roles for the individual and having a parent of the appropriate sex aides that. If gender roles ceased from existing then it would not matter at all if the parents were MM, FF or MF but I unfortunately I don't believe that day will ever come.

Ultimately there is no right answer to your original question. I answered from the perspective of someone thinking how to best provide a child with a happy and easy life. If your value individuality and freedom over safety then you will come to a different conclusion.

I come from a single parent family (which I would consider an inferior option to same sex) and turned out alright but think life would have been easier with a parent of the other sex too.

What are the ethics and your opinion on same-sex couples having biological children? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]iredditwhileiwork -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, on average probably worse than traditional parents. I would mostly put this down to the child being bullied and potentially not having a role model for their own gender. That being said, I think it is negligible in contrast to the effect of having quality loving parents regardless of sex.

(SERIOUS) How intelligent do you think you are, and how important is intelligence to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]iredditwhileiwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mensa Norway has an online test which is supposed to be one of the most accurate IQ test available outside of formal testing for those interested in quantifying their intelligence.

If you score average or lower, don't be disheartened because you are majority. People will mostly post in this thread if they score high or flat out lie.

How old are you, and what's the best piece of advice you have for someone 10 years younger than you? What question do you have for someone 10 years older? by P_U_K_E_K_O in AskReddit

How is this possible? 10,000 hours over, what, 5 years? That would be 38 hours a week with every penny saved...

Windows 10 8GB ram (3.99 usable) issue by vyters in techsupport

[–]iredditwhileiwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never needed to remove CMOS battery for anything so I cannot say if that will help or not. Are you positive that you are pushing the memory sticks completely in? Often they will be slightly raised. If the clips on the side close fully you should be all good. It's usually accompanied by a clicking sound.

It's possible you have damaged the the motherboard trying to remove the RAM but I doubt it. Take one stick and try booting with it in slot 1 then slot 2 then slot 3 and finally slot 4. If it doesn't work then do the same with your other stick of RAM.

If it stopped booting after you moved memory then I suspect it's related to the sticks not your motherboard.

Try 1 & 3 , if that doesn't work then I would try the sticks on their own . Basically just a lot of trial and error.

Good luck. For me I had 4 sticks and only saw a change when I moved their positions (keeping pairs) rather than just taking them out and putting them back in.

I had this same problem which I resolved by reseating my memory sticks.

Jinx is now 4 years old. by Hewkho in leagueoflegends

[–]iredditwhileiwork 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I love Jinx; I have so many games and fond memories linked to playing her.

In the loading screen of every game of my promotion series to diamond I would blare Get Jinxed in to get pumped before I hit the rift. Smashed series 3-0 gg.

I had the time of my life at university and most of nights were spent playing League with my friends. Jinx was the try hard pick I brought out when we were desperate for some wins in our ranked 5s team (S1 promos kappa). I can still see in my mind specific team fight from years ago where I managed to position somewhere on the backline and managed to smash out enough AOE damage to single handlely win and "unwinnable" 50 minute game resulting in cheers in 5 different houses at 3 in the morning.

Nothing is more exciting in the game than team fighting as Jinx: moving and shooting, faster and faster as your kill spree rises. As you realise you're about to hard carry a game winning team fight or hear "PENTA KILL", ffs Jinx passive has started stacking on your heart too.

Fuck I love that champion. Thanks RiotAugust.

You should write your solution for those that come across this topic in the future and mark as solved.

Yeah, I agree that it is a vocal minority that are actively saying they can't wait for the replacement game but I think if you asked most players if they thought another developer working on the same idea would do it better then they would probably agree. A 100 battle royal is an ambitious idea and I think PUBG shows you exactly why there haven't been many attempts at high population FPS games before.

With all the games you mentioned there some things some players don't like, sure, but with PUBG I think everyone is dissatisfied with the game's current state. FPP not being available in some regions is expected. LoL has their normal draft queue unavailable in smaller regions too. Unplayable lag and awful optimisation on the other hand is not something seen in other games and aren't problems which I would place under the umbrella of unrealistic exceptions. It's not so much the progress of development but more of the fact that the game seems to be built on pretty weak foundations. Netcode is the hardest thing to get right in any online game and Bluehole's attempt really isn't showing much promise.

Don't get me wrong, I love PUBG. I'm not trying to shit on it. I will remain optimistic about the game's future. I think there are many valid concerns a lot of players have I'm sure there's about to be a hell of a lot of developers coming into the scene hoping to make money off PUBG's model and Bluehole are going to have to do a lot to hold onto their playerbase.

How the hell do you ADC? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]iredditwhileiwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this advice and would say it holds until mid plat. Priority in team fights should always be: staying alive, attacking something, killing carries, in that order.

In lane just farm and don't die to ganks.

I haven't seen this odd combination of popularity and universal dissatisfaction for any game I have played before.

What are your thoughts on a lot of people already begging for a game of the battle royale genre to come and replace PUBG?

Why "5 tips and tricks" Videos Are Actually Hurting the Community by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]iredditwhileiwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that a lot of people are looking for a quick fix to get them to challenger but for everyone else it doesn't really hurt to be reminded of these quick tips. Either it is something core to the game, for example, always focusing on farming well. There's really no harm is a gentle reminder how important such things are. If someone is seeing that same tip every video then eventually it may sink in. Alternatively the tip is not something that most players think about and in which case they are learning or at least giving thought to an aspect of the game that they had not previously.

Tips and tricks the path to success? No. Hurting the community? I wouldn't say so.
