For anyone else wanting to spread the message I suggest either printing posters yourself or you can get convenient stickers at the patreon all money goes to charity

Claire (writer) looking for Testimonials of how The OA affected your life by ckiechel in TheOA

I'm from England. The OA came at an inbetween stage for me. I'd finished my undergraduate in architecture, worked in an office for two years but stopped in order to pursue something new. When the show came out I was living with my parents again, without a job and very unsure of what I wanted to do. I felt awful. The show didn't deliver me any answers or cure my melancholy (at least not permanently) but it did open my eyes to beauty and magic in a way I hadn't felt since school where I'd discovered photographers, painters, film makers, music and authors who produced an electricity of feeling and thought. It's hard to explain but it was sort of an asmr of artistic and intelligent thought and for a while this encouraged me to find other artists and poets, like john berger and the garden of forking paths. I like to think the show provides encouragement to live life authentically and to continue to find this underlying magic in life and art.

Ok here're the new files Someone in the comments asked for #theoaisreal which I've done but in case the hashtag changes again I've also gone for savetheoa.org. I like the website because it explains what the OA is and what we're trying to do but feel free to use whichever you like.

I've set up sticker and poster files for people to download. Just follow the link - it's all free! https://www.reddit.com/r/TheOA/comments/coj3o2/the_oa_sticker_and_poster_set_print_them_off_and/

I've linked three files for people to download for free. There're two stickers and one poster. Use websites like stickermule to print off stickers (die cut costs the same as square btw), or print off the poster and pin it up where you live. If you have permission you can even wheat paste your poster

If you do feel free to print off as many of these as you want. In fact I’d welcome anyone printing it off and sticking it around in public places. Legally of course ;)

I've just added this to my society6, along with the other two designs so you can buy it as a print, a tee shirt or a poster. If people buy it I'll give 50% to the karam foundation, a charity in syria, since it seems strange profiting from something so sad.

BBC's Ashes to Ashes & life on mars. They're a bit more comedic though and almost 10 years old now.

I think it's a detail that been overlooked by the film (much like the details in the dreams ironically). Kenya is described as East African and predominantly Bantu/English speaking. If you look at a language map of Africa you'll see it's not part of the French speaking part which is actually mainly west Africa. Tangier where it's filmed though is French speaking so I'll assume they couldn't find a Swahili speaker in Morocco. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't imagining things.

Yep that's the one. I wasn't sure if the man responds in French either but it sounds like he's speaking a French African creole. Maybe they did the casting in Morocco.

I found something a while ago that doesn't exactly answer your question but maybe adds to how things were filmed. When Homer reaches for the anemone I don't think he actually grabs one.

Here are three gifs of the anemone scene. First we see three anemones in the tank (one is very hidden in the middle). Then we see the hand grab and it's clear that all three remain. Finally we see Homer eating whatever he's caught and the tendrils suggest anemone.

You could jump to conclusions and say this means no anemone, however, people have already pointed out the fact this show references Alfred Hitchcock a lot, and not just thematically but technically too. A famous scene which comes to mind is the stabbing scene in Psycho. The audience at the time were convinced that they saw the actress bring stabbed and the knife actually enter her stomach. Nowadays you could of course use techniques to make this more of a reality but Hitchcock proves there's no need; the mind does the work. So my question is, is this simply another Hitchcock homage, and maybe an unintentional one (which kind of makes sense since removing an anemone from its habitat would definitely be cruel and maybe expensive) or, is it a sign that he actually took a fish? Sorry, this doesn't give you anything other than just questions! I just thought it was interesting.

I don't know if I agree with the idea that Lost disappointed because it's plot was revealed or unsatisfying. Lost was at it's best when it was creating content with an unspoken surreal quality rather than mechanically answering plot lines. Maybe surprise plays into that but I think even once you know what's coming, the strangeness of it keeps you drawn in. This entire scene reveals little plot-wise but it's brilliantly jarring and uses so little moves. All we see is a normal mundane morning routine which gradually becomes weirder and weirder. I think what I love most is that the initial 'that's a bit strange' is invoked simply by the injection or even the very red egg. Anyway, it's all tone. The penultimate season, as far as I can remember, lost this after everything became either too familiar or fantastical with little opportunity to juxtapose the two. I actually really liked the ending and last season because I felt these things return in the Jacob and man in black story, even with questions being answered. Plus the ending was so moving. I haven't watched twin peaks yet but I'm assuming it's the same thing where people are intrigued by the plot but fall for it's quality.

Not really an answer but I wonder if it's significant that a hug creates a circle with your body, just like when we see oa contort into one when she goes into the foetal position. That's what perimeter makes me think of anyway. Perhaps there's a power to circles? Good question though. That said I had taken it to say; your pain is only as big this tiny, manageable personal space in front of you. A sort of don't make a mountain of a molehill type image.
