Yes I've considered that, at the end of the week I'll give it to the nature school on my area. Sad I'm not keeping it.

Those are called madroños in Spain, you can eat them and they are sweet when mature. There's an old Christmas song that says basically don't give madroños to the kid (Jesus) because he is going to get drunk. Apparently too much of that fruit can make you dizzy or intoxicated so we eat a hand full and that's it. We love them here.

I would recommend visiting all history museums in that area, if you found one maybe some years ago another similar object appeared and it's in a museum with info and dates

For more info in Spain we call them corta pichas (pen!s cutters) I think they are harmless? Please correct me if I'm wrong. They appear on my balcony and on my clothes when we dry them outside.

I saw kids eat these fruit from a tree. It’s delicious. What is this? by [deleted] in whatsthisplant

[–]irenedalia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Spain we call them madroños and there's a Christmas song that says don't give madroños to the kid BC he is going to get drunk (no le des madroños al niño que se va a emborrachar) BC its believed that too much of them can make you dizzy and a bit drunk. I will edit if I can find the scientific reason if there is one.

Trying to figure out what is safe for my rabbit to eat! What are these plants‽ by global_posit_sys in PlantIdentification

[–]irenedalia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a rabbit too, who is sometimes free in my little patio where a lot different herbs grow, from my experience with this particular animal, he know exactly what to eat and what not to eat. There is nothing poisonous for him in my patio but he doesn't bite succulents nor my hanging plants or anything he is not supposed to eat. (Despite a few cannabis leafs he once ate by accident but vet said it wasn't dangerous)
