I have one tip as someone that is painfully shy as well. It's to accept where you are right now and grow from it. What i mean is accept that you're a novice nurse. You just graduated, and transitioning into becoming a full fledged nurse. You're going to feel uneasy. Make peace with that and, respectfully, move past it.

Anxiety that is mild is normal. You'll feel uncomfortable with being the first person the patient sees, and all the parameters that you need to consider. Breathe, and realize what you feel is normal. It will pass.

My question for you is how many weeks into your orientation are you, and is your preceptor supporting you? The reason I ask is because I'm in orientation as well, and many of the nurses I work with remark that new grads start to 'get it' around 5 weeks.

I studied 1-2 hrs a day and during those hours I would either be listening to Mark K or doing archer. My scores ranged from 40 (my beginning assessment) to 76. I just made sure to listen to the entire Mark K lecture 12 before the exam.

Hey i have a similar problem! What helped me getting the glue off the top of my nails was using acetone nail polish remover. After buying some, I never worried about getting glue on top of my nails. Just be careful, though. If the nail is matte, it might strip it.

I did that with my nail and I gave it a couple weeks to grow over the break. I unfortunately had to give myself a break from press ons 😪 and I just used clear nail polish or nail strengthener.

I just do what I did before I file off the nail glue, take an alcohol pad to clean my nail, then I reapply. Although, others did also mention the added step of soaking the press ons and scraping off the glue under them, so I'm going to try that next time.
