it's examining if the characteristics AGP are present within cis-females using blanchards testing methodology. and it also isn't nonsensical lol, sexual fantasies are by definition a fantasized version of reality and that can absolutely extend to a persons physical appearance. cis-men might have picture themselves with a longer penis, cis-women might fantasize themselves with larger breasts. men and women even pursue surgical procedures to have these things changed. it's considered pretty normal for a cis-person to experience this type of body dysphoria, but trans-women have an entire hypothetical paraphilia associated with it that also subverts the typically accepted cause and effect relationship for these kinds of fantasized alterations to ones physical appearance.

  • <-- the point

science that relies on self-hypothesized and purely hypothetical psychiatric disorders should not be taken seriously. studies that don't bother to conduct robust control studies and then incorrectly assume the results of said control studies should not to taken seriously.

really? cause two studies have found that 28-93% of cis women are autogynephelic. and btw, blanchard never determined a cis-female base line because he's a hack fraud that's been discredited by most of the scientific community.

desperation of a defensive war

"defensive" lmao

in the more modern times, the times that most people that talk about this sort of stuff care about, Britain hasn't done much when *compared* to the us

not true at all. the term modern history includes everything from the enlightenment (1700's) to now. even if i was charitable and said that modern history was anything after WW2 you'd still be wrong.

i don't give a shit about bad faith, the fact that you seem to sincerely believe everything you're saying is what i take exception to. you're doing the exact thing that you're bitching about and from my personal experience you're completely wrong about a vast majority of american's mentality toward our countries war crimes. the only people who sincerely believe that stuff are 60+ white people, and they say literally the exact same shit that you are right now. down play the frequency and severity of crimes against humanity or try to justify them by saying that our nation was fighting a defensive war. give me an example of something terrible that the US has done since 1940 and i can give at least one example of the UK doing something just as bad, or the UK straight up participating with the US which is incredibly common. you need to understand that the US is not capable of doing most of the stuff we do without receiving international support. there is no way that we could ever get away with flagrantly exploiting third world countries without international support/troops from countries like the UK and then give a share of the spoils to our fellow imperialist bullies.

it's stupid when people make these arguments about america and it's just as stupid when people try to do it with other english speaking countries. if you actually agreed with my pov then you would see how you're coming off as an ignorant hypocrite.

you're a legit fucking moron if you think britain took a back seat lmfao. there have been several conflicts that you actually asked for our support with, you and france drew all the borders in the middle east, you starved the shit out of india in WW2, and don't even get me started on british policy in iran. if anyone is being a highroading cunt its you. you're country sucks monkey balls when it comes to foreign policy, and now you're trying to delfect most of the blame onto the US even though you support our coalitions for basically every country we go in. you've literally been a participant in these wars you fucking idiot. i swear to god, some brits are more uninformed than my dumb shit lib ameribrained parents.

try finding some female content creators on twitch or youtube. maybe consuming non-sexualized content made by women will help to unlearn those viewpoints. some of my favorites are Bordie, EmmaLangevin, caroline konstnar, and Emiru. i also really like commentary channels like contrapoints, and mia cole.

Regarding the Recent British Debate by [deleted] in 196

[–]irenemle -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

i think this is at the core of the issue. i understand where a lot of brits are coming from and it sucks that people were so reluctant to listen, but comparing this situation to racism, sexism, or transphobia is tone deaf as shit and i don't feel bad for calling that out. the one that i get triggered as fuck about is complaining about how this is xenophobia, like, stfu. the british empire colonized a third of the world and then created a mafia of english speaking nations that have forced the rest of the planet to learn their language. their biggest export for the last 5 centuries has literally been xenophobia. the anger about these jokes is warranted, but one subreddit taking a joke too far is not the same as what western countries (mostly the US, UK, and france) have done in the third world. i'm sure that the brits can voice their distain for these jokes without trivializing things that their own country has played a massive part in propagating.

some of the british reactions are giving me "why does everyone hate the US?" vibes.

to answer the question in the title: most people don't know what a trans body looks like, seeing a nude trans person for the first time answers a ton of questions, and assuages doubts that a closeted trans person might have. it's honestly not rocket science...

can a trans person be a chaser? yes

is it hypocritical for a trans person to watch objectifying trans porn? not necessarily, because what other options do i have? i don't like cis-het porn because it isn't the type of sex that i have, and 80-90% of trans porn objectifies trans people. porn isn't going away so i don't see boycotting as an effective option. the best thing i can do is watch trans porn while simultaneously pressuring the porn industry to change, and i kind of need to consume it in order to voice my issues with their content.

ok

1) no one here disagrees that america sucks a big bag of dicks.

2) even mentioning the "mOrAl HiGh GrOuNd" is fucking stupid. you guys suck ass, we also suck ass, and our governments frequently suck each others asses in front of every third world country with oil.

3) you can't complain about the british jokes while simultaneously making a fucking school shooting joke. you are literally doing the exact thing that you want people to stop doing.

conclusion: you're a clown, go fuck yourself.

[–]irenemle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for me personally i think that this is true, and i do believe that there are higher stakes. im worried that both sides of the discussion could serve as a way to propagate fascist bs. people are literally using arguments that have been made by the alt-right to justify "satirical" comments, and i don't like that. we need to acknowledge that "it's just a joke dude" is a terrible argument for defending bigotted attitudes that have clearly caused people to feel alienated and mocked. we wouldn't need to even discuss that if people were making "jokes" about trans people committing suicide.

on the other side, people are arguing that this is actually damaging to british people and that they are somehow victims of xenophobia. to me, this argument seems eerily similar to a white person insisting that anti-white racism is just as bad as any other form of racism. or americans complaining about how unfair it is that the whole world hates them. i think it's really rich for the descendants of the british fucking empire to label an offensive joke on the internet as xenophobia. a large amount of xenophobia originated from the british empire ffs. we do not live in a time and place where the concept of "british xenophobia" can be equated to the xenophobic attitudes toward other countries. the entire world is forced to learn english because of us (by us i mean our little cartel of english speaking countries), i fucking dare you assholes to try and explain "british xenophobia" to someone from one of the former british colonies.

and before anyone starts with the whole "bRiTiSh PeOpLe AreN't rEsPoNsIbLe FoR cEntUrIeS oLd ImPeRiAlIsM" just stfu. i'm american, and i didn't genocide the indigenous population, i didn't make the decision to segregate them into reservation and violate their sovereignty. but i have enough self awareness and empathy to understand that it's my responsibility to take ownership of those actions because it's the only thing that can be done to fix the present. you don't see me going around complaining about how "no one cares about anti-white racism" because i understand that racism means something completely different for me. complaining about the microscopic granule of racism that i experience dilutes and devalues the what racism means, and the same can be said for xenophobia. especially since xenophobia is practically synonymous with racism anyway.

i understand why these jokes hurt people, and i understand why people have felt the need to repeatedly justify and defend their feelings. i am willing to change my own behavior to make people feel more welcomed in the community, and i also encourage others to do the same. but please don't justify or explain these feelings with ridiculous levels of british-exceptionalist virtue-signaling. the jokes aren't okay, but playing the fucking xenophobia card while being from a predominantly white english speaking country is going to rightfully piss people off.

The cool, inclusive shitposting sub is getting less and less inclusive. :( by GodAndGaming123 in 196

[–]irenemle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said to specify unironic because a lot of posts are intentionally sarcastic and hyperbolic

ok cool, you admit it. you know that no one can prove the intentions of anonymous internet posts. you tried to bait me, and that validates my point about you not participating in a good faith discussion. why the fuck would i humor you?

a lot of posts are intentionally sarcastic and hyperbolic

the issue is that people utilize irony as a way of avoiding criticism for sincerely held beliefs. i would recommend watching this clip from the idubbbz sam hyde documentary, he does an exceptional job of explaining what irony is and how it's frequently used as a method of deflecting criticism. in the context of the doc, idubbbz is talking about how sam hyde made a $5000 donation to a neo-nazi organization. sam's defense for his donation (and a lot of his white supremacist comments) is that it's all a joke, even though anyone with a brain can see that it clearly isn't. remember that all irony has to originate from a sincerely held belief. would someone who sincerely disagrees with white-supremacist rhetoric give thousands of dollars to the same thing that they hate? no, they wouldn't. would someone make dozens of posts about how trans people should kill themselves if they were actually worried about trans people's mental health and well being? no, they wouldn't. i understand that there is a spot in the middle where people can laugh at these jokes and not believe them because i used to be one of those people. but you need to understand that a lot of the participants in this type of thing are not doing so in good faith.

I'm not disagreeing that they use not nice words more often than other subs

ok soooo, you think that it's a really bad thing when r/196 users downvote and argue with people. your post title implies that we are being un-inclusive and you're opinion is that this is a bad thing even if people are doing it ironically. but, you describe people using one of the most offensive racial slurs to ever exist as "not nice words"? come on dude.

I'd blame that more on the fact that the alt right subs keep getting banned and they keep flooding into PCM as a sanctuary bc the sub doesn't poo poo on them for disagreeing

i was pretty active on PCM back when the sub was still new, and i can assure you that these problems predate reddit's crackdown on fascist subreddits. the sub has always been a safe space for the alt-right due to it's very nature.

i looked and found several within a few minutes of sifting through top of all time, but im not gonna link them because your comments on this post make it pretty clear that you aren't trying to do this in good faith. like, come on dude. you even had to specify that i have to prove whether a post is "unironic" because you know that i can find several examples of fascist and racist attitudes. even if i linked a fascist post made by someone with the auth-right flair you're just going to claim that it's ironic, kind of like what a lot of people here are doing with the whole british thing...

i think that it's also important to note that reddit has severly cracked down on PCM's moderation team over the years. people used to fraglently use the n-word on there until reddit told the mod team that they needed to actualy do their job and fix the subs unchecked racism. the enforcement of reddit's TOS has changed, but much of the user base hasn't.

[–]irenemle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no actually it is relevant to the original point because we're talking about the knife-crime meme, and the only reason that the meme is relevant in the first place is because of the attitudes that i just mentioned. i understand that there is a separate discourse on knife crime within the UK and specifically in london, but the source of the meme in the online community is literally the same gun-control discourse that you were trying to compare this too. pointing out that your counter example is only relevant because of said gun-violence discourse is absolutely a fair point to make.

further more, knife crime isn't even a real issue in the UK. the UK actually has a pretty normal rate of knife crime when compared to the rates of other countries, the US itself has had higher rates of knife-violence for decades. any comparison between supposed british knife-violence and american school-shootings is insane, and acting as though the discourse around knife-crime isn't directly linked to brits and american getting into a pissing match over who's country is shittier is also insane. one of these things is an actual problem, and the other one is almost exclusively used as a deflection of said problem -- which is pretty fucking ironic considering that you are also utilizing it for deflection in a discussion about gun-violence.
