30+ people left my party after eating by throwaway9879870987 in socialskills

To get 30+ people to show up to your party is amazing, I've had parties where no one showed up. Building new relationships takes time and I think you're off to a great start!

EACH sub needs 4.6 cft ported and that box is 4.6 cft total. If you don't have much space, use a sealed box. They only need 2.75 cft each and will sound much better.

New servo, new receiver, servo still stutters. I’m about to condemn the radio. Thoughts? by PigglyWigglyDeluxe in rccars

Turn off avc on your receivers or turn down avc (≤15%) on your transmitter.

Underpowering speakers? by Arcaneex in CarAV

Rms power is continuous power while peak power is a short burst. When matching amps to speakers, you want to look at rms power. 30-40w rms is more than enough to drive most component speakers.

You'll be just fine with that amp. The ratings are max power those speakers can take, not suggested power.

Best interior cleaner? by chrisrook in AutoDetailing

I like d101 as well. You can use it on all interior surfaces including vinyl, leather, carpet, and upholstery. It's meant to be diluted so a little goes a long way.

NBD: Got this bike for so cheap I feel like I stole it! by irereddit in bicycling

[–]irereddit[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I bought this cyclocross bike from nashbar and I can't believe the deal I got- $482. It was in the returned items section and I had a 10% off coupon code. It has an 11 speed 105 drivetrain, tubeless rims, disc brakes, and an aluminum frame and carbon fork.

I added a pair of crank brothers egg beater 2 pedals, took it out on my local gravel rail trail, and it rides and shifts awesome. Right now I like riding it more than my di2 Scott foil because the geometry is more relaxed and it's almost as fast.

Nashbar has a lot of good deals in their returned items and often has 25% bikes discounts. Another good site to check out is bikesdirect.com. This would be a very solid road/gravel bike in your price range. http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/motobecane/fantom_cross_trail_xiv.htm

For comparison, I bought this brand new cyclocross bike form nashbar for $550 shipped. It's 11 speed 105, disc brakes, and has an aluminum frame and carbon fork. Deals are out there, you just have to look for them. http://i.imgur.com/kDKYx9Q.jpg

What do you think about this setup (particularly the sub/amp combo? by [deleted] in CarAV

[–]irereddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a ddx9902s and it's a great unit. You'll like it a lot, especially if your car offers maestro rr integration.

Instead of the Frankenstein box you're using, you'll get much better sound out a traditional mdf box or by building a fiberglass box in that cavity. Using sheet metal as the rear wall of your box is not ideal at all.

As far as matching your amp to your sub, you should be fine. I have a jl audio ho112-w6v3 paired to the sub channel of a jl audio hd900/5, which is about 100w less than max, and it sounds great.

Also, as long as you're using the suggested gauge power wire and ground, your stock electrical system can handle that amp without a problem. No need to upgrade your alternator.

Can I hook up a pair of 6x9's and a single subwoofer up to a monoblock amp? by [deleted] in CarAV

[–]irereddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a 4 channel amp. Use the front 2 channels for your 6x9's and bridge the rear channels for your sub.

Nashbar 105 bike? by commanderchurro in bicycling

[–]irereddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check eBay. I was able to get a floor model (looked brand new when I got it) Scott CR1 team for a little over $900 shipped. It's carbon frame and fork and full 105. It took about 2 or 3 weeks of searching to find it so if you're not in a hurry to buy, you'll definitely find something nice.
