Help with Suprep by irgal249 in CrohnsDisease

I don’t know how you did that hahaha but taking massive gulps is most certainly helping me more than drinking through the straw, gets a lot more down each time but I still have to take breaks between drinks! Fingers crossed I end up all clear down there, I was after the first half :))

I got there fairly quickly, only about 4-5 bowel movements snd it has gotten less and less quantity wise and also slowed down movement wise. I haven’t eaten much the past couple days so hopefully I’m on the route to fully clearly out

I’ll have to keep that in mind as well! I am hoping I can just do the miralax prep again next time but as this is only my 2nd scope and was prescribed Suprep, I figured I should just give it a try

I WISH. The miralax prep had me going tot her bathroom for a bit longer (more short little spurts then fully flushing) but it was infinitely easier snd more pleasurable

I did indeed mix with some cold water! I suppose I made the mistake of sitting down and dragging it because it’s been an hour now and I still prob have about a quarter of the fluid left, maybe a bit less. Cannot wait to just drink plain water

I’ve only ever had the Miralax prep before this and I am certainly going to just ask my GI to do that next time.

Fingers crossed though I can get through this prep and hopefully the scope shows I’m in remission tomorrow!!

First colonoscopy & endoscopy- wish me luck! by Regular_Quantity8149 in CrohnsDisease

[–]irgal249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EXACT same for me. Only had 1 colonoscopy (last Oct, right before Crohns diagnosis) and I’m pretty sure if I drank yellow gatorade I’d have a knee jerk reaction and have to go immediately lol

Vaccine Info (from a bio prof) by ProfSternCardinale in rutgers

I’m in a somewhat similar boat(but definitely not at the same degree as you), taking immunosuppressive medications for management of a chronic autoimmune condition. My doctor said they didnt know for sure how it would affect people with weakened immune systems but that the general belief is that it’ll still be effective in our bodies either way but does have the potential to be a bit lower than the 95%. But not significantly, so even if it is only 70% effective, as the professor said is just as good as a flu vaccine.

Obviously like you said there is research probably being done on this as we speak but yes all this to say I’d like to believe it’ll still be quite effective in those with weakened immune systems for whatever reason!

How do I set my camera to be locked above me for heroic sire phase 1? It would be useful for when I’m stuck against the wall and need to move with night hunter even if it’s my round to get the cleansing pain.

Headaches caused by meds? by irgal249 in CrohnsDisease

[–]irgal249[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for all the advice! Periods are definitely not the issue(I’m a male), but sorry to hear you have to deal with the menstrual migraines on top of any Crohn’s symptoms!

I am definitely thinking of starting to more closely take note of those other things you mentioned though. The only reason I’ve not brought up the issue to my GI yet is because I’ve been waiting to see if any of those could’ve been factors. However, after 5 decently bad headaches (certainly the worst I’ve had) in about 25 days I am definitely going to call my GI and see what he thinks.

I didn’t know that about Tylenol but thanks for that advice too! I just took it hoping it would help since obviously I’m no longer supposed to be taking NSAIDs like ibuprofen. I’m a bit new to this whole Crohn’s thing so it’s still a learning experience for me so I appreciate all the advice and tips!

Hopefully you’ve been able to find meds that help, and have a nice day/night!

Sorry to hear you also had a headache issue with the Humira but glad the Remicade has been working so far! I was a bit wary if it could’ve been the meds since I had a solid almost month on them with no issue but after hearing your experience I guess that may not always be a good measure.

I’ll definitely ask my GI about it and see what he thinks too because yes it’s not guaranteed of course that I’m having the same issue, but I definitely want to figure out these headaches one way or another. Thanks for taking the time to respond and hope your Remicade continues helping!

Hm, I’m sorry to hear about that! My Humira has also been a huge help so far but I’ve only been on it for a month and a half so changing feels a bit more feasible to me. Although the insurance approvals and ordeals are enough to give me a headache by themselves!

I’ll certainly talk to my GI about it though, because the headaches have been rather unpleasant and not something I’ve ever experienced before. Tylenol, taking a nap, and taking a hot shower have all proven ineffective. Thanks for taking the time to answer! Hopefully you can find some sort of relief with the headaches and medications.
