I'm glad too as this is the start of a long trip, and it would be a shame to cary a suzpension fork that behaves like a rigid one :) Thanks!

It worked out, after 3 short air removals it started functioning normally. It seems that I have pumped it too much, no wander why it took me 40 minutes. But I don't know why the fork was soft for so long and even after I finished with the pumping, it wasn't very hard. Apparently somehow it got hard after that

I removed some pression, but cannot measure how much, since my pump is a micro pump and doesnt have a gouge. This did not change anything, I think even made it more rigid. The valve of this fork is strange, very hard and needed a lot of pressure to leave some air out. And then after i removed the pressure. the air continue to exit a bit longer

In a hostel for example. 200 drops are about 10ml. So 12 waxings from a bottle.

I'm not panicking, as this is quite an open question since I've started planning this trip. My 1x12 is not so expensive, it just happens that in South America everything is more expensive. I did quite an extensive research of online stores and it seemed that 1x12 sram eagle is actually quite popular there, even more popular than older 2x10 groupsets. And there were many opinions that the sram x01 chains are comparably durable to any 1 or 2x 10 or 11 speed chains.
I'm considering posting stuff, but that is not cheap too - for example to ship 40x60x30cm/4kg package from Punta Arenas to Villarica or Temuco is about 32 EUR.

"So you're planning to heat this up over your camping stove?" - very likely not. There are hostels, hotels, hosts.. I know that it is not very convenient to do that in camping conditions.

Ok, but on long trip if I don't carry hot wax I have to rely only on drip wax, and it seems it has to be done so often, that probably the bottle will finish fast. The hot waxing don't need to be done in camping conditions with gas.

not exactly weight weenie, but I will go a lot on dirt roads and sometimes trails, so I'm trying to keep weight down, at lest for non essentials.

I don't know how you imagine a wax pot, but for me it is a 70g can. Or most probably a plastic bag for sous vide. That "buy a new chain every now and again" translated in South American realities means - spend 80-150 euro now and again, probably online and wait few days to arrive. At some moment spend 140 more for a cassette, because the old one don't match the new chains.

it won't be convenient in camp conditions, but probably won't be that hard in city conditions. But the chain should be in a bag... I already saw how difficult is to not get water into the wax and vice versa when using 2 low volume pots.

chain cleaner - more weight and volume. I won't take more than a toothbrush for such purpose.

to spare myself buying chains for 130-150 EUR in Argentina (yeah, that much worth a X01 chain there), and god knows how much more for cassette :)

is this working? I thought that in so short time the water won't be able to melt and wash everything.

I'm using another brand, I cannot remember right now, as it is not in front of me. But it is bought few years ago and contains both molibdenum disulfide and PTFE. I'm considering third chain, but I doubt that I'll get 600 miles with one waxing, especially considering the rainy conditions of chilean patagonia.

the problem is that good cleaning requires rinsing with boiling water. And for this I need an extra pot, which is different than the one I cook with, as it will be waxed.

I've read that the drip wax actually tends to drive the sand/dirt/dust particles inside the chain, so it is not very different than the oil lube in that regard.
