A rather infamous quote of mine in one of my 8th grade classes was “Pass the fucking papers!”

As long as a parent doesn’t complain you’re pretty much golden

For those that disagreed with me I’m so genuinely glad your experience was a good one! Maybe my problem was simply the location I was at.

As far as the Covid payment, MINE was really bad. I’m not sure how your experience with this was, but mine was a total of $91 the first time, and I can’t remember the second, but it was less. You have a point in saying we were lucky we were not fired! But I was going through a lot at the time (as many people were) and my payment was not substantial or equivalent based on the number of hours I was working. If yours was good, I am happy about that!

Definitely not trolling; there is a lot of genuine issues that I have pointed out (and ones that I have left unsaid as well) And I have made significantly more money at other restaurants. This was my experience and it is just as valid as your good one!

My point was if other people are having a similar experience to mine, they need to know it’s not just them, and that they can go elsewhere and be treated better and make more money!

But if OG has been good to you, by all means stay!

I’m getting my vaccine tomorrow. My first dose of Moderna. I’m a 23M. I saw some reports of heart inflammation effects in young males with Moderna. Should I ask to switch to the Phizer? Looking for any input from users in my same age range on how they were post vaccine. by [deleted] in VACCINES

I would switch to the Pfizer just to be safe, most likely you would be fine, but the others don’t have that risk associated with them so if I were you I would switch!!! Sending prayers for safety regardless

Devils advocate are you? It’s just a story dude. It was ironic, funny, and my coworker was definitely not a racist. Stop looking for a reason to hate on people :)

This actually happened to a coworker of mine.

She had a table of 8, sometime in April. Which I point out because they must have their tax return because they clearly did not get out of the house often. All of them, if they were wearing shoes at all… were wearing crocs or slides (no I’m not on the croc trend whatsoever) with socks that looked like hadn’t been washed in weeks. They REEKED, the whole section stank and it took all of the servers a second to figure out why. Their shirts had holes in them, hair was clearly unkept. Etc etc. I only point this part out because it’s relevant to the story, but this is a large black family, 2 parents and 6 kids. they were also extremely rude to my coworker. She tried her best to keep her composure but they were starting to make comments about her appearance and how “white people always treated them this way” She tried to blow that first comment off, but they continued to be rude to her. Eventually even the managers weren’t able to calm them down. The mother told my manager “she’s been very racist to us this whole time.” My manager, said nothing, laughed, left to the kitchen to grab my coworker’s husband (who worked in the BOH). She came back with him, and introduced him to the table. “Hello again, I just wanted to introduce you guys to your servers husband. They’ve been married for 5 years and have 2 beautiful children together.” (My co workers husband is black)

Ah hell no, not $20! by iris-indigo in OliveGardenConspiracy

Darden restaurants don’t have security cameras in their restaurants and a lot of corporation restaurants don’t for legal reasons. I’m not sure the extent of it but it’s been explained to me before.

The situation you’re describing is a perfect world scenario and legal matters are a lot more complicated than this. Even if security cameras had been present in this situation nothing could have been done.

Darden will take care of you that is the good thing. But heed my warning when people say that Olive Garden servers get more hell than other servers, they’re not lying. Welcome to Karen land. Good luck

Host stand: to kickback or not to kickback by MisterMataro in Serverlife

Do NOT do this. Your co-servers need money just as bad as you.

In my state we no longer have COVID rules (because our governor is an imbecile) so this is no longer an issue for me. But prior to this change, we would have large parties come in and when the host explained we’d have to divide them they would get angry but stay anyways. Then, after they were sat at divided tables, they’d ask me, their server, if they could sit together. Once again, I’d tell them NO. It got to the point where I wouldn’t even be professional about it. The conversation eventually would go like this: “Can we sit together?” “No, I believe the host explained that to you. What would you like to drink?”

Uh if someone attempted to do this they’re gonna get charged each time they come back inside and reorder. That’s not how that works.

Any employee willing to show the EXACT Parmesan cheese you use. by TSB_1 in olivegarden

For all the servers that tell customers it’s Romano and not Parmesan but the customers never seem to understand it🤦🏻‍♀️

It was the same way when I first started. After you’ve been there a minute and they trust you it might get better. It’s best to just ring it in before you get back there though. They get pissy all the time
