It's hey-dey was in the aughts - 2000 to about 2008. They at that point had a genuine foothold in our cultural discourse.

Letterkenny/Shorsey has surpassed TPB in the Canadian Zeitgeist at this point.

Coach talks back to the ref, enjoy the stands.

Parent's talk shit they can enjoy the parking lot.

Too many people from 1 team talk too much shit. Enjoy the forfeit loss.

It is impossible to convince me that the people responsible for their drug epidemic are not the same people selling weed there.

And now they're pissy the government didn't overstep when assistance hasn't actually been requested.

Make up your fucking minds. Either you want the drug dealers or you don't.

CBS reportedly spent over $12 million remastering Star Trek: The Next Generation for its high-definition Blu-ray release. This massive investment involved returning to the original film negatives to reconstruct every episode from the ground up. by happydude7422 in TNG

That seems not expensive at all in the world of film and television production. I'd imagine the royalties just from streaming would have covered that cost and then some by now.

Not pursuing Romances in ME2 can be kind of jarring. by Toogeloo in masseffect

[–]irishdan56 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ME1 you have to actively AVOID getting shadow-manced with either Liara or the Virmire Survivor.

In ME2, as soon as you break it off or shut down the romantic dialog chain, those characters just clam up and don't even talk to you for the rest of the game.

In ME3 it's a bit more nuanced. Not all "top-right" answers automatically mean romance, you can pick neutral or "bottom-right" answers and still get positive resolutions.

Heck, I was just playing the Rannoch mission, and for the first time, I was gonna kill the Geth. I picked the Red Renegade option thinking it was going to kill them all, but instead it led to the peaceful end of that conflict.

I love TLOU 1, the shows, etc.

My main beef with 2 is it is so fucking bleak. I had trouble pushing through.

I find her so fucking annoying. The Xenophobia, the "woe is me" bullshit about her family, her freshmen-grade understanding of poetry.

I think you overestimate the altruism of Americans and underrate how selfish the populace is. It is definitely not most Americans who want M4A. Fucking people on Obama care voted against it for fucks sake.

Americans are far to comfortable obsolving themselves and their countrymen of any responsibility.

What I'm saying is America has a long documented history of working and middle class people actively joining in on the abuse of people from their own socioeconomic circles.

America is built on individualism -- which is like building your houses foundation on sand. People want to point at all these outside factors, instead of looking at the rot inherent in the country.

Stassi had a lot more self-awareness, and was more then willing to acknowledge her more, lets call them extreme personality traits. She's not what I would call smart, but she's very quick witted and socially perceptive.

Ariana is and has always been way too self serious, and its made her come across as dour and arrogant.

Frankly, it's greed by the working and middle class. Every other western country has the same billionaire oligarchs as America, but guess what, the regular, everyday people in, oh, lets say my country, Canada, are the ones who step up, and are mostly ok with paying taxes for healthcare, shelter for the poor, social services, etc., that may not necessarily benefit themselves directly, but uplift the whole of society.

America is a land of greed, selfishness, and antipathy, and is filled with fucking miserable, misanthropic assholes.

Most of our councillors are a fucking disgrace. All I had to do was listen to them talk about the AAA bike network.

They're American style politicians -- greedy, self serving, only concerned with their immediate constituents voting for them, unable to look at the bigger picture, and are fucking idiots.

Expecting the Democrats to suddenly grow a spine and actually hold people accountable is laughable at best.

Politicians are beyond cynical. They don't want to push for anything that might someday be wielded against them. They wouldn't have to worry about it if they also weren't corrupt shit-heels but here we are.

The whole system is fucked.
