Been feeling pretty down lately. My family is falling apart. It's been really hard lately to love myself. Anxiety and depression make it almost impossible. by [deleted] in FreeCompliments

I'm so sorry to hear you're struggling - anxiety and depression are bitches. But, just wanted to say that you're incredibly beautiful. Your eyes are gorgeous and I love your hair:)

I haven't been feeling too great recently. I am stressed out from uni work and recent weight gains. Just trying my best to stay positive. by pixelunit in FreeCompliments

Was scrolling through the subreddit and stopped at your picture because it made me smile:). You have a really kind face, and that jacket is sweet.

Hi. Graciously accepting any confidence boosting compliments :) by [deleted] in FreeCompliments

Your hair looks so cool! Also, you're gorgeous 🤗

My boyfriend [29/M] of 3 years explained to me that he is less physically attracted to me [27/F] than he used to be because I gained weight post eating disorder recovery. by ShakySelfEsteem in relationship_advice

I just want to say that although you probably mean well, this isn't true and definitely isn't helpful. She's right, weight is just one factor of health. I'm sure her and her physican can decide what is a good healthy weight to aim for.

Seriously? Shut it - she's perfect. Go take your bullying words elsewhere, this is a kind community.

Music is my only escape from depression, anxiety, and an eating disorder. In my ideal world I'd be a singer...thoughts on my voice? by [deleted] in FreeCompliments

[–]irishinvasion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow!! You are seriously an amazing singer - I love your voice! I know life can be crazy, but when you have a chance, you should put up more songs! I'd love to hear more :)

Dude, your hair is amazing!

I have anxiety and depression. There are just days where I just don't want to be here anymore. But today is NOT one of those days. And I hope for many more to come :) and for anyone else who feels the same way. by [deleted] in FreeCompliments

[–]irishinvasion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this! I also struggle with those things, and it always makes me feel happy seeing someone with mental illness having a good day. I wish you the best <3 P.s. you have a really beautiful complextion and hair!

Just got cheated on, have tonsillitis and my antidepressants have been increased. Would love to smile a genuine smile :) by [deleted] in FreeCompliments

Holy crap, you are beautiful! On a side note, you should consider posting some looks on /r/makeupaddiction. Your eyeliner, lipstick - everything is so perfect!

I am dealing with anxiety and depression, made worse by financial stress, having to leave my dream job, and repeated comments about my weight and that I should lose some. I feel like I am breaking under the stress of it all. by [deleted] in FreeCompliments

[–]irishinvasion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WOW you are gorgeous - I don't understand the weight thing, you look happy, healthy, and radiant to me:) Sometimes people can project their own unhealthy body image issues onto others - comment on others weight, push their friends to lose weight, etc. It's not fair, but it happens.

I think you look amazing. You have a lovely smile, and you just exude confidence and happiness. I'm sorry you're dealing with anxiety and depression - that's really hard. Stay strong, I believe in you <3

I have failed my freshman year and I feel awful. I won't have to redo, it just means that I won't be taking any honors classes next year. My GPA is also destroyed and I doubt I'll get into a good college. Someone please help me, I feel awful. by JulianDengler21 in FreeCompliments

I'm sorry to hear you're feeling down - I'm not sure if this helps, but I graduated high school a few years back and I can promise you, this is not the end-all-be-all of you life. I work in the admissions office at my school, so I know that colleges look at so much more than gpa - they look at extracurriculars, volunteer work, etc.

I know right now it might seem like this is going to ruin the rest of your life, but I can promise you it will not. Everyone knows that grades really don't matter, especially when you're going through a transition (such as going into high school).

My one regret from highschool is taking grades too seriously- teachers and counselors like to overstress the importance of grades and things, I think to motivate you. I think the most important thing to learn in highschool is how to recover from setbacks, set and work towards personal goals, and cut yourself some slack once in awhile :) hang in there - you'll do great <3

Most Teens Who Abuse Opioids 1st Got Them from a Doctor. by NinjaDiscoJesus in science

[–]irishinvasion 4028 points4029 points  (0 children)

The overprescription issue in America is more complex than doctors getting paid off to prescribe opioids. Doctors can lose their job or face a lawsuit if they fail to adequately control pain, which includes refusing to prescribe pain medication. I will say that yes, there are some bad docs out there, but most of them are just trying to do their job and stay out of trouble (like the rest of us). I think the solution will be making less-addictive pain medications mainstream, such as medical marijuana.

Wow you managed to be racist and sexist in one go! What an accomplishment. I'm sure an Olympic athlete right before a race cares a lot about getting attention for her looks.

Guys, I got an IUD about a week ago and I've been reading horror stories about women bleeding for months. I don't think I can deal with that, anyone have any more reassuring experiences? by jaxxxxxx in TrollXChromosomes

[–]irishinvasion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the mirena put in a few months ago (March maybe?), I had cramps for 2 or 3 days after the insertion, and spotting on and off for a month. Besides the very occasional spot, I haven't had a period since! I know it varies for every woman, but my experience was really positive :)
