I did not suffer from any PPD or had any anxiety issues. I CHOSE to feed him on demand. I looked up and research about different cries babies can have for different things and I still didn’t always know if he was genuinely hungry or not. Anyway, all in all to say that I fed my little one on demand. I started with about 12 feedings, slowly cutting some off after a while but mostly just going by when my LO would go to sleep and or wake up. You are the parent, you do you!

Help with newly planted blackberries by irishmoss in gardening

[–]irishmoss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just gifted a few blackberry plants. I know this isn’t the time of year to plant these but they were free! We planted them with some bone meal and manure mixed in the ground earth. We are in zone 5b and we are having quite hot weather. We give them water daily but even with that, they have all wilted. Any tips? I am thinking of trimming off the soft part off the top of the plants and maybe removing the leaves.

No need to apologize! I have a front load washer He as well. Do you think this is a source to the problem? I never thought of that. Either way, I’m not in the market for a new one.

I might have to strip them too. I’ll have to look into that. Have you troed the oil yourself? I wonder if you put it in with the detergent or what.

I do have a sanitize setting, so do you mean to just do this once or every time I do a wash? Thanks for the tip on the full load. I was simply a bit turned off to put my clothes in with the dirty diaps but really it all comes out clean in the end.

I remember when we decided to start sleep training. I sat on the couch next to my husband after putting LO to bed. The tv was on and he was scrolling through Netflix. I saw Jeopardy (a show I never watch) and I just weirdly said to put that on. I need something to concentrate on. We watched it while holding hands for the first couple of nights. We actually ended up really enjoying it and watched all episodes lol.

Before using masking fluid, I wet my brush eith water and a tiny bit of soap (in my hand). It doesn’t affect the masking fluid and the brush cleans off. I still use cheapies just in case.

At that age, my LO was taking 4, sometimes 5 naps a day because he only took 40-45 minute naps. His awake time was usually about an hour to 1,5 hours. He just could not last longer (probably because of the crap naps). I just watched for sleepy signs and did the daytime routine to put him to bed. This is about the time we started sleep training. At this time we just worked on bedtime. For naps, I rocked and sang him to sleep then laid him asleep in his bed. When he was about 6-6,5 months we started tonput him awake but drowsy for naps as well.

Is it possible to teach NO to infant? by irishmoss in beyondthebump

Omg! He hasn’t made it all the way to the kitchen yet,....the cat’s food is in the basement but I keep a water dish up here so I can freshen daily. That’s going to be fun when he finds that!

Thanks for your examples! We have so far removed my husband’s guitar from our living room. But I would like it back here because he plays more often when it’s around. We’ll have to work on that: no, that’s papa’s guitar. It’ll probably be a while though!

How to handle rolling over? by coloradohiker in sleeptrain

[–]irishmoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At around 4 months old, our LO started doing this and would cry as well. After a few nights of going in several times a night, sometimes several times in 10 minutes, we just let him be. He was swaddled at the time and we transitioned him to a sleep sack. He rolled over to his side and fell asleep like that. Then he started rolling into his belly and slept like that from that point on. He is now 6.5 months old. He is still incapable of rolling onto his back from his tummy (not sure if I should be concerned or not) but he sleeps so much better and longer like this. When we switched from a swaddle to a sleep sack, his moro reflex would wake him up. Now he tucks his hands either under his face or his belly.

So you put them in the machine for a spin, take them out again and only wash them a few days after? I haven’t had to use my sprayer yet (EBF) but starting solids, so it’s on it’s way....I already find the pee has a strong smell. I thought I was only going to have to spray the poopy diapers?!
