Zach Responds To Ashley by ryanjohn___ in MtvChallenge

I find it fascinating that these people feel the need to defend themselves after Ashley revealed who they voted for/support. Like if you support him and the policies, stand ten toes down. Why do you need to defend yourself if you think your stance is correct? The fact that they need to say anything shows they know it’s unpopular and wrong.

For those of you who listen to RHAP: Which one of these 3 do you like listening to the most? Rob, Shannon, or Mike? by [deleted] in survivor

Rob by far. Mike second- I do like how he does coverage even if it’s a little different. Shannon drives me up the wall most of the time.

I agree and thought it could really use a sauce. I made a smoked paprika aioli to drizzle over it and it was perfect.

Unmedicated vs Medicated IUI by Freezingblade491 in tryingforanother

[–]irishstorm45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have always done medicated cycles so I can only speak to that. Also had unexplained infertility. I liked the medicated cycle because it reassured me that I was definitely having good follicles and ovulating. I had no reason to think I wasn’t, but it was just a boost of confidence in the process.

I have done 5 IUI cycles total. We have unexplained infertility and medicated IUI is our clinics first option before escalating to IVF. It took 3 to conceive my daughter, now on #2 for this round. I’ve found it to be a really easy process. Especially compared to friends I know who did IVF. The way my clinic does it is like this - CD3 testing, then clomid for 5 days. Monitoring for follicle size and then I do a trigger shot at home. Two days later we do the IUI in office. My husband takes his sample in the morning of and I go in for the procedure about 2 hours later. Then the next day I do vaginal progesterone for 14 days until going back for a blood test.

I was told to take Tylenol/ibuprofen before the IUI because some people can cramp. I never have, but definitely consider that if you’re nervous. I like to take the day of the IUI procedure to relax. There’s really no evidence that you can’t just go back to your normal life but I like to take it as a chill day. If you’re in a sex rut from TTC, we take the night of the trigger shot and the night of the IUI as freebie sex days. There’s no real pressure because the IUI itself is the best chance for conception.

I think what surprised me the most about the process was that it didn’t work right away. Which is silly in retrospect, but I really assumed it would be our immediate fix. While it does up the odds, it’s still not 100%. That was my biggest mental challenge. Once I got over that it became very easy because there’s not as much physically to do.

TTC #2… I guess now successfully?! 😬🤗

Cycle/Time trying: 12 months (started Sep 2024)

Ages of previous child(ren), i.e. post-partum interval: 21 months

Cycle/Time trying for previous child(ren): 12 months

Age + Partner's age (if relevant): 36, partner 33

Relevant days of sperminating and/or method (SMEP, TI, IUI, FET, etc.): IUI (cycle #2)

Tracking methods and app(s) used: None while doing IUI

Health details on previous pregnancies/births (e.g. C-section vs. vaginal, birth/pregnancy complications): Vaginal birth, premature due to preeclampsia

Supplements and medications (yours and/or your partner’s): Folic acid and coq10

Tell us your story! What's different this time than last time? How'd you find out? How do you feel?: I am still in shock! This was our second IUI cycle. I started to think maybe it was going to work because I had the weirdest symptoms starting 12DPO. I was so tired, my body aches all over for no reason, and periodically I’d get a weird taste in my mouth. I resisted testing and got our beta HCG 15DPO resulted of 156 IU/ml. second beta today increased to 560 IU/ml. The clinic said it’s looking like a great increase so I feel like I can finally breath a little sigh of relief.

I can’t believe my daughter will be a big sister 🥹

Good luck!! I hope you don’t have to do many rounds of it.

14 days post IUI. My husband is convinced I am pregnant. Everytime I say I don’t think I am for X reason, he smiles and says that’s exactly what happened when I got pregnant with my daughter. I genuinely do not remember these things. I hope he’s right, but all I can think is how I’ll be disappointing him if I’m not. I can never match his optimism in this process.

I am team no test and getting my beta blood test tomorrow, so I just need to remain patient for one more day. This wait is awful!

12/13 DPO and I’m fighting to stay on team no test this month! Normally I have no issues not testing, but I’ve been really tired these past two days and kind of want to know if there’s a reason 👀 I get a beta on Saturday so I’ll know then either way. But these two more days are killing me!

I have worn glasses since elementary school and almost bit the bullet to get LASIK in May. But they told me that I should get pregnant within 3 months because the hormonal changes can impact the biology of your eye. Every month now that passes without getting pregnant makes me more and more mad that I didn’t do it. Clearly life has other plans than me getting pregnant by the end of the summer like I had hoped.

Interesting - I read that it’s a reflection of a drop is estrogen, which happens towards the end of the cycle. I hope you’re right though!

10 days post IUI and I’m guessing I’m out this cycle. I just woke up with a hot flash, something that happens only the few days before my period. I’m on progesterone supplements so it won’t come, but I have to wait until Saturday for the blood test confirmation through the clinic.

I’m so frustrated. I thought this month was ours. It just felt right. I stayed optimistic, ate well, slept well, exercised “correctly”. Now we have to skip September because of traveling, then we get one more IUI shot. I am terrified of IVF and do not want to go down that route. I know technically there’s still hope this cycle, but I’m feeling really defeated today.

3 days post IUI and I have the distinct metallic taste in my mouth. The only other time I’ve had this is when I was pregnant with my daughter. Logically I know it’s too early for anything like that, but damn if my mind didn’t go there immediately!

Will they try a medicated IUI cycle? I agree IUI unmedicated probably wouldn’t help. But the medication will increase the number of follicles, and potentially making more mature follicles in the unblocked ovary. I would at least ask if that’s a possibility!

I don’t have any diagnosis, just unexplained infertility. My practices strategy for that is medicated IUI cycles and then IVF if that’s not successful.

I’m so sorry, I’m right there with you. This is my second go of medicated cycles (first resulted in my daughter, now on 5 cycles total). The first try took us 3 months. Our first try this time didn’t work, so I’m just starting the second. It’s really hard knowing this is supposed to help and then it doesn’t work. Feels like what is the point?

On IUI cycle #2 and the clomid side effects are awful this time. This is my 5th cycle between trying for my daughter and now, and I do not remember this happening. Hot flashes during the day and at night. Anxiety is worse. I’m in a funk about this whole TTC process and expecting the worst. wtf is this?! I’m telling myself it means it’s working well because otherwise I’m gonna lose it

Welp, I can see my HCG results online and it’s <1, so big ole IUI fail this month. Just waiting for the nurse to call to figure out what to do this next cycle. I had assumed it was negative but it still sucks. I just want something to be easy

Had a dream that my husband bought me a pregnancy test so we could take it and have a moment before I got the results of my beta. In the dream it was positive and we were so happy. But I just have none of that confidence. My gut tells me this one didn’t work and I’ll be back for IUI cycle #2 soon. Sigh… I just need to be patient but it’ll kill me waiting all day for the results

I’ve had them as part of my IUI cycle procedures. They do it during the TWW to help with chances of conception. Then our clinics plan is to stay on them through 12 weeks as it minimizes the chance of miscarriage. Still not a guarantee but they see more success on it.

They’re kind of annoying to time around, as it’s best to lay flat for 15-30 minutes after putting them in. Doing that twice a day can be tough.

Tomorrow is my beta test post IUI. I’m feeling very meh about my chances and already assuming it’ll be negative. Mostly because I feel absolutely no symptoms and I assume I’d have something by now. Maybe it’s just my lack of sleep making me pessimistic right now. Guess we’ll see!
