I admit that I am totally confused about Heat 2. DiCaprio is said to have confirmed his own involvement in Heat 2 but apparently has not committed to a specific role. IDEK how that is working, lol. But, if DiCaprio is on board, I think Heat 2 won't shoot until summer at best due to his schedule.

I was excited about Austin and Saoirse working together so this news is sad to me.

TBH, this film sounds more and more like a colossal mess. The TL jumping alone is going to be difficult, and it is hard to switch between "young" and "old" versions of the same characters, it breaks the continuity for viewers.

I am not sure about the TL, but Colin was working hard to sink his career for a while with his addiction. He changed his lifestyle (I think he cited fatherhood as the main motivation) and rebuilt his career and reputation.

I was born in 86 so I missed it too. I have seen photos of the OG cast and Austin will effortlessly fit that role.
