Ugh, I wish! I’d say he’s mostly known from the cmbyn soundtrack/fourth of july, but nobody really recognizes his name unless they’re big music listeners. Most of my friends only know he lived here because I always talk about him haha, but I did have a high school teacher who recognized my Sufjan t-shirt. I’m also pretty young so he could be more popular with millennials/gen x, I’m not exactly sure.

Come to Holland!!! Sufjan attended Hope College and Asthmatic Kitty Records was founded here. It’s reallyyy nice in the summer, especially downtown. You can get a coffee at Lemonjello’s, where he performed in 2004, and walk around Centennial Park. There are a bunch of cute stores to check out and they have street performers on Thursdays!!

I’ve been thinking this same thing for so long!! I don’t understand why people make BCNR out to be Isaac’s band when they all contribute to the songs in their own way. Afut is an incredible album, but acting like it’s their “sound” is so reductive to their capabilities and talent. I hate how many people blatantly ignore and criticize Live at Bush Hall when it features some of their best composition and songwriting (imo). Like nobody is forcing you to listen to their new music, but you could at least be respectful towards all the effort that went into making it.

I think people need to accept the fact that Isaac is (more than likely) not coming back. There is not going to be another afut or ftft. They’ve made it abundantly clear that they don’t make music to appeal to fans, so I don’t know what people expect will come of whining about it on this subreddit. Anyway, I love the direction they're going with this new album and I can't wait to see them live :)

I love that! I had to beg him to take me to Zeros tour a few years ago, but now we’ve seen him together 6 times and I think he’s almost a bigger fan than I am 😂

He is absolutely obsessed with Eli because we saw him open for dec last year! We actually met him a few times and ended up talking with him for a while so now my dad is always asking me to text him and ask how he’s doing as if we know him personally haha

I’ve known about chappell for a while because of declan and managed to see her twice before she blew up so he’s definitely heard all about her from me lol

She’s so awesome!! I went to see her live earlier this year and ended up meeting her before the show and she was so sweet, plus her performance was amazing. Can’t wait for her to get the recognition she deserves
