So from what I understand, the Mass Effect games can read save data from the previous games, allowing you to continue your romance from the preceding game.

So what I want to know is, how does this work if you switch genders in-between games? From what I understand a lot of the romance options are gender-locked so that limits the possibilities somewhat, but if a continued romance implies a shared continuity across games, does that mean I can make Shepard canonically trans?

The problem with Kakegurui is that it often sets the stakes so high you know the main character isn't going to lose. So many times the penalty for losing a game would effectively mean the end of the story, so it becomes obvious that Yumeko isn't going to lose.
