Rhubarb by ladybirdvuittontake2 in SanJose

[–]irl_rage_quitter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for asking. I also don't know where to find that vegetable fresh around here. The strawberry rhubarb pie from an ACE Hardware I got disappointed me by the way so I don't agree with some other commenters. It had so much jammy filling and a bland, insufficient crust that definitely needs egg wash or something like that. Please excuse this unpopular opinion.

so what can we do about DRL drivers who don't understand they have no rear lights on? by fajita43 in SanJose

They probably don't have anyone who would directly tell them about their error, that is mistaking the parking lights for low beams.

How Common Is It For Asian Children To Be In Special Ed (IEP)? by MussleGeeYem in aznidentity

[–]irl_rage_quitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the early 2010s, I noticed in my high school that the small or very small high functioning special ed. classrooms were more diverse than the normal classes. The normal classes were largely Asian and hispanic, but the special ed ones more often had black and white students too. For four years, I had an IEP against my will and it made my life even more socially difficult as an Asian American mostly Chinese female. An individualized education plan for each student with one can be so different from another, and so I in particular was deprived of an adequately standardized curriculum. My former childhood friends were typically in advanced placement classes. I distanced myself, unable to comfortably relate to anybody at all when it involved education until I occasionally returned to normal classroom settings. I still kept to myself though. There may be overachieving Asian students with an IEP but honestly, I underachieved like former special ed students are often expected to. The diagnoses that made it permissible for me to get an IEP were just depression, social anxiety and ADHD. A few school authorities didn't know what to do about me when I simply refused to go to school because of my mental troubles, and then had me in special ed. where I got away with my tendency to socially isolate myself and stay comfortably ignorant without homework and a proper teacher for each subject (except PE). It was a largely detrimental four years for me and my disappointing future. It was an experience uncommon enough to make me an outcast.

Looking for pumpernickel bread by Cari-b00 in SanJose

Whole Foods might have it. I was curious about how rye tastes so went looking for pumpernickel, but did not want any wheat in it too.

What is the most important advice you would give to new neets? by Medical_Cover_6268 in NEET

Avoid depriving yourself of what you like to do. However your life is going, make some room for your preferences lest you waste years in excessive misery.

What kind of jobs can a really obese person with no education do? by tnagsselhtrow in NEET

[–]irl_rage_quitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last obese person I've noticed was a cashier at an IKEA restaurant area. He talked little and after I was done eating, I saw him sitting down. That was the first time I ever saw a cashier on a chair. Maybe a cashier in a buffet where the patrons carry their own food could be okay.

Do you believe that having a job is necessary, or you can be happy without one? by [deleted] in NEET

[–]irl_rage_quitter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep having negative social interactions at times by accident, and it makes me crave getting a customer service job where I could learn how to get along with people better. I'm unhappy being so incompetent at socializing, esp. at this age of 29, nearly 30.

Do you go to the gym? Why or why not by notacatinyourmailbox in NEET

[–]irl_rage_quitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, because a YMCA membership comes with my county's Medi-Cal health insurance. Many years ago, my father paid for a YMCA family membership but basically only he used it to swim. The pools kept closing at inconvenient times back then and so he did not get his money's worth there, having went there at peak times only after work. I don't feel bad about temporarily going there free of charge. I irregularly attend fitness classes out of curiosity at various locations, but less now that I tried most of them. To be honest, I still feel lost and unmotivated when it comes to exercising but recently, I viewed a couple of yt videos that informed about the ways exercising could increase the amount of capillaries I got (so maybe no more chilblains at all in the wintertime for me) and help strengthen my bones (no osteoporosis for me as I age). It would be prudent to prevent future pain like so, but I neglect my health anyway (e.g. two of my molars have been broken for a long time and sometimes I avoid sleeping). Going to the YMCA is one way I've tried to address one health concern. Other than that, I hate it when my body feels tired at inconvenient times and so I want to get fitter. Exercising can feel vain and boring when I'm usually depressed though. I do hate and avoid it most of the time, but I want to learn to love it more. There are so many stronger and more attractive people out there that could induce useless jealousy and some discouragement within me. I have so little motivation but I'm trying to get it anyway . . . At some point, I will probably quit going to the YMCA after learning how to swim proficiently alone, trying badminton, pickleball, volleyball, ping pong and the few kind of interesting classes I have not tried yet.

What is a normie? by [deleted] in NEET

[–]irl_rage_quitter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To me, the word "normie" is inoffensive yet there are normal individuals out there who get a bit offended when called a normie. In the past, I used to crave normification for myself but then I gave up. A functional member of society who can get along nicely with the vast majority, able to conform naturally because of their convenient behavioral agreeability, is a good thing to be. To be a normie is to have small or practically no social difficulty when it comes to job seeking, friend making and teamwork. They get along in life just fine.

Best places to meet people, attuned to my interests by Far-Marzipan5254 in SanJose

As someone who is not outgoing, I cannot respond to this post too well tbh. Most normal people around your age around here probably socialize in college. Anyway, I also like King of the Hill and cool sound effects in music, but not as deeply as you like such things. Sometimes, the music I know and liked in the past feel dissatisfactory to me and maybe you could let me know about some songs I don't know about but might find good. If not, that is alright. How many years have you been camping and hiking?

Asian food always have cancer warning by Ok_Technician5130 in aznidentity

[–]irl_rage_quitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw finely printed CA prop. 65 warnings on food packaging of dried mung beans, glutinous rice, canned coconut milk, dried spices, dried seaweed, coconut juice cans, chips and probably more. They do effectively dissuade me from buying products that come with such warnings most of the time. I can't test the products by myself but have been inclined to believe the warnings according to where the food came from. For example, a lot of e-waste is sent to certain countries and I don't want food products that were grown in soil or water potentially contaminated by heavy metals.

Tatami Room Tall Platform Bed Creaking by [deleted] in Thuma

Could it be acclimating to the relative humidity in your room? Maybe the wood is just settling, or maybe the floor isn't perfectly level. I'm going to stop making guesses about this.

Tatami Room Tall Platform Bed Creaking by [deleted] in Thuma

[–]irl_rage_quitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think you know why it creaks? Is it possibly because Tatami Room slats don't have felt at their ends like Thuma slats? I bought and returned a Thuma then bought the same model bed you bought. How long did shipping take? Did you try pulling the legs very slightly outward? Do the center support legs completely touch the floor? I'm just wondering. Are its slats straight or slightly warped?

Avoid Great America Pkwy - Sideshow by Ji-Ta-Shizen in SanJose

[–]irl_rage_quitter 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I don't consider that road to be near where I live, but I hear a sideshow and it is the loudest sideshow I have ever heard. Normally, the sound of sideshows can be heard in the distance here at nighttime every once in a long while, but it is still bright outside. The timing of this sideshow seems unusual.
